Its really funny ill say. I was going through the cod forums and its came to my attention that every cod -Yoink- is whining that every since advance warfare showed its ugly face everyone on those forums are saying (gahhhh cod is exactly like halo now this sucks blah blah blah) while i think theyre nothing alike and also cod just sucks period i literally find it hysterical that they say cod is turning into halo and people in the halo forums -Yoink- about halo being too much like cod (which its totally not). Sorry i know random -Yoink- thread i just think its hilarious. Dont beleive me yall should check it out lmao

It’s because nostalgia plagues both fanbases.
CoD is adopting a sci-fi theme because that’s the market standard for FPSes right now. Halo is adopting enhanced movement mechanics (that were created on their own, thank you very much) because it’s one way of competing for the short of attention average gamers of today.

But I totally agree with you. They are nothing alike. If anything, CoD was taking a more sci-fi route with Advanced Warfare, so any similarities to a certain sci-fi FPS is totally on them. Especially since most of the features in Advanced Warfare were in Halo 4 and Reach first.
When people don’t like change which is stupid because without change Halo would become COD in that its the same thing year to year

what nostalgia? every halo game has played different from all the others, theres base similarities but thats it. until AW each CoD game has played the damn same even with different studios making each one… at least their game play change was sudden and brutal, halo’s has been gradual (sometimes less so… reach).

Please don’t let Halo become COD… I was worried with Halo 3’s COD-like Hit Detection. They almost lost me from Halo for forever with that one!
Take any game, any forum, and you will find people complaining and drawing comparisons to other games.

I played advance warefare and took that crap game back i used to play cod all the time back when modernwarfare was brand new. This new cod sucks -Yoink- and black ops 3 is going to be awful all cause of exo bs… i have zero interest in cod anymore just cant do it but hell ill never be able to get over halo. You are right reach and halo 4 had all their things first except for loadouts and the perks.

Apparently neither do opinions?
Halo and COD are still miles apart in terms of TTK–that alone sets them apart, even if things like movement between Halo 5 and the latest CODs is pretty similar.
That’e literally every game forum. “Our favorite game is turning into that game we hate!” Did you think the Halo fan base was any different?

these “similarities” are always taken at a face value. just play the two games, and its vastly clear that each operate very differently.
I can’t stand to play advance warfare, but halo 5 was awesome. They play much different in my opinion. It’s like saying classic halo is just like every other game because back then the mechanics were just like most shooter’s before. No sprint, clamber, Ads, or other things like thruster pack.
In my opinion halo there are many different things that make halo different, like longer kill time, balanced weapons, even starts, weapon/map control, team focused, the golden triangle, unique radar, smaller arena styled maps.
And that’s just a small part of the multiplayer experience, we have a tin of gametypes competitive and casual, we have always co-op/split screen, amazing campaign and Story, forge, Firefight/ spartan ops, custom game’s, theater.
In my opinion halo 5 plays like a modern halo should, and advanced warfare feels like a even more random multiplayer cod game. With people double jumping and thrusting around randomly will little limitations.

It makes my brain hurt when I destroy my friends in AW. And I don’t even own a single Call Of Duty game. Advanced Warfare is the most annoying and boring piece of crap I’ve ever played. The gameplay is so dull and simple, all the weapons feel the same with the differences being in the weapon classes. Being able to destroy my friends while using a pistol and them using assault rifles just shows me how much less skill Call Of Duty in general take compared to Halo or any shooter…

Yea i feel the same way as you man i cant do cod anymore last one i really remotley played was black ops. Other than that it sucks

True, but I’m sure that we don’t all have the same definition of what the “core mechanics” of Halo are. It’s not like there’s an official document or anything stating what the core mechanics are.
I tried to check out the forums and let’s say I appreciate halos forums more now, they seem much easier to get around.
