I was holding on to hope for this game….it’s state actually seems to be getting only worse with time…I’m not sure how that’s even possible.

It’s not worse imo, it’s just not getting better fast enough… the mid season update felt more like a day one patch… it’s really embarrassing

Halo Infinite
Late-Winter of 2022 - 343 Announces that servers are shutting down.
Early-Winter of 2023 - Microsoft Announces that 343 will be rebranded as “Studio 117” and management / company performance regulations will be altered after review.
Autumn of 2023 - Studio 117 is finalized and hiring begins once again, now hiring people who actually care for the games.
Winter of 2023 - Studio 117 announces that Halo Infinite’s fixes and re-development is progressing smoothly and should be ready for servers to relaunch by Winter of 2024.
Summer of 2024 - Studio 117 reactivates Halo Infinite’s servers early because the Halo fans that they hired already knew the ins-and-outs of the Blam! Engine and thus were able to fix problems with ease (thanks Halo Custom Edition !) and fans come back to a full experience free of all but two glitches.
Winter of 2024 - Microsoft buys Sony because of the budget costs saved from 343 Industries being reworked into a fully functional studio that doesn’t waste resources and make false promises.
Spring of 2022 - wake up from the ideal world and return to the pseudo-dystopia of our own.

The Dream of a FFXIV but for Halo basically? nuking it, changing engine and rebuilding it with a reinvigorated focus and drive as well as better communication with the playerbase resulting in good will being brought back?

How the game is getting worse:
The amount of 3v4 match starts seems to be increasing.
The frequency of playing “Slayer” in ranked has increased…from around 15% to around 75%. This is bad if you’re not a “Sayer” fan, like myself.
No friends want to play Infinite anymore….it’s becoming a barren wasteland of Micless bots.
Everything else about the game is getting worse…because it’s not getting better. Infinite straight up feels like an overextended Beta test at this point….I honestly feel dumb for buying a new Xbox for this title…

I play on PC… had my name on a waiting list for a console. I’m not buying it now. Maybe when the game is good I can scoop a console then. Price will probably be way lower since it’s gonna be years from now I’m sure.

I genuinely think this is what is needed at this point. Clearly what they have built and delivered is not fit for purpose for a “live service” game. All of the issues we are seeing as players are down to poor game and net code on a piss poor engine with limited UI. It needs a complete overhaul becomes it is becoming increasingly apparent that the issues are at the core of the game.

That isn’t getting worse, that was just bad from the start, and I ain’t defending 343. Worse means it’s even more bad than when it started, and I do think things are getting better, just too slowly.
To be honest, a lot of players were complaining about objective in ranked, so many may find this a positive. As for the 3v4, yeah that is kinda getting worse. And for friends not playing, that’s more a personal problem.
You’re disappointed?
I grinded over 600 hours from December 2020 to basically Halo Infinite’s release to get the Watchdog armour coating since I believed at the time it would look at least somewhat similar to how it was advertised.
The game comes out and it looks awful. It was nothing like what it was meant to look like, and what made it so much better was that a few weeks ago they released the midnight wrath which literally is Black and Red. It’s just a better version of the 152 armour.
It feels like half of the coatings are black and red at this point. I thought 152 was meant to be a big reward?
Then 343i give away the decent looking weapon skins in the HCS event.

I’m just mentally onto the next Halo already. There is zero way this game this game will last ten years. Hopefully Microsoft finds a new studio to develop the next Halo games in the future.

Agreed; it’s doubtful holding 343i’s feet to the fire any further is going to have much positive impact at all, but I would love to be wrong about that. I’ve personally invested more into this Halo experience than I ever have before, and it is really disappointing that the series standards are just not being met by any means; worse still, they were compromised and traded for a sales model nobody genuinely wanted, and is actively worse in every way in comparison to it’s predecessors.
