looking at many people’s Halo Reach stats i realize that i suck…
ive only got 1 perfection and 2 exterminations, and those were hard for me to get… i just dont udnerstand because i win 955 of all FFA games i play and im usually the player with the most kills at the end of a match… i want to do better im better than this, saving it up for Halo 4…
Don’t worry, most of those fancy medals everyone has are from boosting or spawn-killing 8v2 during unfair matches.
lolwut. I have a fair few fancy medals and I’ve never boosted in my life.
Honesty they all come down to what you play and how you play, not necessarily skill.
Eh, don’t worry about it! Super shiny medals don’t determine exactly how skilled one is!

If you’re talking about MLG, then that’s a whole different ball game. I’ve got 2 Perfections in MLG against 80 odd on the other playlists. I’ve got about 15 Exterms (including scrims) against 25 or so. I’ve got 10 Overkills (including scrims) against hundreds on other playlists. I’ve got 1 Unfrig compare to 9 on other playlists.
Medals really mean nothing in MLG. They’re cool and all but ultimately it’s all about the win.

Woah woah woah, I’ve only got 1 perfection and a handful of exterminations before, but I don’t suck. It’s all relative. Don’t base your performance off of the best of the best. These are people that train hardcore to be better at the game. They study it. They have teachers for it. You (I’m guessing) don’t have any of these. I’m sure you’d be great too if you had all of these resources.
Dude, who cares. Come on, it’s a video-game! It’s also Halo: Reach lol.
A lot of people have better stats because they boost or credit-farm, or just play and practice a lot. You could follow them to raise up your stats if it matters much to you. I don’t really care about my Reach stats because I’m just all about fun, not dominating a video-game. No one looks up my stats anyways, unless people click on my profile from forums on Waypoint.
Halo 4, now that’s when I will work harder to become a better player and maintain positive statistics.
thats the thing… Halo 4 is going to be very competetive and im gonna do my best to get good to play for money… i have a job and i play guitar i just want to excell in my favorite hobbie
I wouldn’t call people bad for lack of medals, nor would I call them good for having a killionare.
I look at a few factors when attempting to determine how good somebody is, but the medals they’ve earned is a non factor as far as I’m concerned.

The only medal I would consider a factor is the Wheelman medal.
People with a higher amount of Wheelman will naturally have lower KDs. Additionally while they might not be personally that good, it shows that they’re willing to put the team first instead of their KD
I don’t have any Exterminations (Came close a few times) and 2 perfections. I used to think I was good but now I play with a higher calibur of player and realise that I am simply average.
It also depends on your team. You meed to know someone has got your back.
Don’t worry about it. You should just have fun at it. Yeah, you want to know you are good, but who cares. It’s all relative. You can play good, but not have the huge medals.
I have something like 10 exterminators, 0 perfections, unfrigs, inconcievables, etc. Exterminator is the only one I really have

all legit perfections taking on full teams. Perfections are my fav medal to earn.
Everyone has bad games. It just depends on where you are on the map. For example: A person with a 100% BPR rating can be shot and when he tries to flee, he runs into an enemy crouching with an energy sword. Throughout the game, he keeps making the wrong choices and getting killed. Bad game. Every player will always have good and bad games. I remember playing against a team of inheritors and forerunners who were all positive and they lost. They were at the wrong places at the wrong time.

I’m in the same boat. I have I think 3 exterms. And 1 perfection. A lot of that is the team you are on as well. I got mine on Pinnacle with a shotgun and a sniper rifle. And someone running backup watching my back when I sniped. My brother got one the next day, but his was because we were playing against 2 people and it was unfair. I was half tempted to kill him just so he couldn’t get it.
I think perfections come down to team work quite a bit, since if you are running solo and get caught in a 2 on 1 chances are you are gonna die.
You have the best KD ever though! 1.17
