Seems like this will be the first game in Haloās 20 year history, where Master Chiefās armor will be locked behind a paywall.
CE, 2, 3? Default Armor.
Reach? Unlocked after reaching a certain rank (and having enough cR).
4? Complete Legendary Campaign.
5? Unlocked in packs
343i knew PERFECTLY that this progression and unlock system is a wreck that absolutely no one was going to like. The same things that we users have been able to see in less than a week, I am 100% sure that they had already seen it for years.

Hereās my idea for the next trend of monetization:
ā¢The game will be completely free
ā¢It will include both campaign and multiplayer
ā¢To access campaign or multiplayer will be $5 for each
ā¢The game will be black and white. In order to have access to color it will be $5 for campaign and multiplayer each
ā¢Access to campaign and multiplayer dialogue will be $5 each
ā¢The game will feature five free weapons in both campaign and multiplayer. To have access to other human, Covenant and Forerunner weapons will be $5 for each, also will cost $5 to use in campaign and multiplayer each.
ā¢Vehicles will function that same as weapons, as seen above.
ā¢Spartan customization in multiplayer will require battle pass purchase. $10 per season, with a new season starting every month.
The way the armor cores seem to work we might/probably are going to get a Mk VI, Mk V, and a Mk IV armor core in a future battle pass.
Do not bash others for wanting customization, a feature we have had for 20 YEARS. This is a big deal, you must be new here.

This monetization is too aggressive and in your face.
Seriously, Iād be more than happy to pay more money for 343 if there would just be ways to unlock and grind for content. You canāt go anywhere if your a free player.
Remember, Forza isnāt releasing MP for free, Halo Infinite is.
At this point, Iām feeling that they should just make MP paid and stop treating us like dirt.
Like MP for 10 bucks and 60bucks for the full game.

Guyās itās even worse than all this. Thereās rumors/leaks of a second battle pass with 120 tiers holding all the missing armorā¦ Iām not gonna lie I donāt really see anything to be excited for besides the campaign now. This just isnāt okay. 343, treat your fans better.

Just gotta keep complaining. Iām sure they went too far on purpose so they can keep dialing back so they are listening to fans and getting brownie points while still trying to see what they can get away with.
It is pretty bad overall that almost no armor is free.
Game pass is more than $5, and Microsoft absolutely will make more money in the long run. At least they believe they will. They definitely would not do this if they thought it would be a net loss for them. They have no reason to.
Also, I donāt believe the game needs to be more restrictive, nor does every aspect of restriction add to players incentive to buy. For example, with the MK VII helmet. If you check the Waypoint app it does not appear theyāre going to sell a version of it for MK V [B]. It also doesnāt appear it would clip with MK V [B]. So then, what incentive are they providing players by not allowing it to be used with MK V [B]? Honestly, it makes MK V [B] less appealing if you ask me, because less items work with it. In general, as someone using MK V [B] I have had no incentive to buy anything else in the store, as none of it works for my chosen core. I donāt believe their restrictive design is making them more money.
I personally see the Esports skins becoming far more common and the overall Battle Pass system to become less valuable. Iām only level 14 or something and I played tons. Compare that to just outright getting an Esports skin, no grind necessary and it starts to make the Battle Pass look like a joke.
Theyāre probably going to make more money off of the microtransactions in Infinite in 1 year than they did off of the last 10 years of Halo (bold statement, I know)
Maybe they will. Personally, Iād pay a lot more for increased customization options than eSports skins. I know Iām not alone in saying that customization was an important aspect of Halo. These eSports skins are the exact opposite of customization. Itās fine if you like them, but I donāt see how them selling eSports skins means they canāt also profit off of a diverse customization system. Iād paying for a coating Iād I could change itās colors/textures. Iād pay for new colors and textures. I would pay for customization. I wonāt pay for a complete inability to change anything about āmyā Spartan, which is what you get with a skin. Again, itās totally fine if you like that. Iāve no problem with you liking and buying them. You do you, I just hope 343 also lets me do me, and they arenāt right now.
Well, heres hoping we unlock them via achievements then.
Though to be honest with every armor piece weve seen both leasked and in the bp, i already have almost every piece i even want. Jist want the soft tac pack for my thigh and the mark 6 shoulder pieces later in the bp.
Though if you could unlock cheifs armor by competing all the campaigb achievements that would be pretty sweet! Especially given we have a laso and speed run achievement! Absolutely something should be given for those
Unlocking chiefs armor, or even just a variant of MK VI from campaign would be awesome! Sad we just get coatings will likely wonāt work with other armor cores
