I completely understand why everyone is upset, and I’m pretty upset too as someone who will be grinding this campaign in its entirety on legendary day one.
However, my biggest piece of advice is to give 343 a chance. Just like this multiplayer beta, which none of us were expecting to even get our hands on until the initial December 8 release date, there are some issues and bugs that 343 has already said they are looking into and working on. As for the campaign let’s see what happens closer to release day. If it’s actually only these colors and a few emblems then that would be very disappointing, but have hope spartans!!
Thankfully I’ve got a 3 months for $1 game pass deal. Gonna 100% the campaign AND not fund this consumer-last mentality they have grown since Halo 5. (Although, admittedly I still bought the BP for the ODST armor, so feel free to call me a little bit of a hypocrite.) They’re not getting full price out of me though which I have happily provided the Halo franchise from every game since Halo 1.
Theres a major distinction between forza and a f2p halo.
The IP owner and publisher 100% dictates the monetisation.
I have no intention of arguing the point further its quite obvious who decides these things.
If you ever end up being privy to negotiations of this nature its clear who has the authority and who makes the choices.
Are 343i entirely free of blame for the implementation, no.
But acting like they are the greed masterminds out to pad wallets is an uninformed position that doesn’t really solve anything.

Exactly. They should really take a look at Forza Horizon 5 if they want to see how to treat their players right. I’m still upset we got coatings instead of a system like Forza that people asked for for years.

In all seriousness though this isn’t surprising. Microsoft wants you pay for everything even the colors you used to wear for free. This monetization scheme is straight out of EA, and Activision’s playbook.
I recommend looking it up on YouTube, it’sjust called Forza Livery editor. It has hundreds of layers to where you can make anything you want with prefab pieces and shapes. It is the perfect example of pro consumer.
Stop pretending you are complaining about the customization. You are complaining about the F2P model.
To argue they should just give out tons of free customization is to say they shouldn’t make it F2P in the first place.
damn that’s sad to hear! Of course there is no way that they would ever give players anything that they could sell them instead… I was hoping at the very least the campaign would give you the season one battlepass, considering that it costs twice as much as any previous campaign (if they are going to claim MP as “Free to Play” then they must acknowledge that the price of the campaign has doubled since halo 5.)
its called Gamepass. I would be surprised if 10% even bother paying full price. You are supporting my argument not hurting it.
Yes I’m aware that Gamepass isn’t free, but it is far far from being $60.
343i/MS are businesses, they make Halo games to make money. Do not expect them to drastically alter their monetization without inherently altering the game.
