I wasn’t comparing two games I was pointing out that once upon a time ppl played video games for the enjoyment of playing the game not looking cool while doing it….My point stand… you have to pay to look cooler. That’s the way it’s always been. That’s the way it will always be.

Miss me with this “kids these days” nonsense. People enjoy the small things like customization because it gives them something to work towards and allows them to make something their own. Why is it okay for 343 to exploit that desire for a buck yet you feel the need to chastise people because they don’t like having to pay upwards of $20 for things like a set of armor, visor, colors, and a few attachments?
It isn’t 2001 anymore.

You didn’t have to pay to look cooler in any other of the Halo games, CoD games or even RPGs that are around right now - even AC Valhalla has plenty of customisations before having to buy from the store.

Again… in economic society you always have had to pay for the cooler looking items. Always. U want those cool looking Nikes…. 500$… u want basic shoes to walk in… 20$
You didn’t have to spend money to look cooler in past Halo games with customization. Believe it or not, some people liked the customization of past games. Some people like working to unlock cool armors. Some people liked having their colors, which weren’t necessarily about looking cool, but about expressing themselves (some people did it to look cool I’m sure). So when that’s gone, yeah, people will care. It won’t mean they can’t enjoy the game for what it is. It won’t mean they can’t have fun playing just to play. But it does mean something that liked is gone.

Times change. They basically saw what I’m stating now. Ppl will pay to look cooler in society and they found a way to take that from the real world to the digital front. Lol. Many games have been doing this for years and years. Count urself lucky that 343 is just starting

Complacency is the same as support.
What’s the problem with agreeing with people even if it isn’t what you personally want? Again, to me gameplay is most important. But I understand people not wanting to be nikel and dimed, and agree with people’s concerns on this matter.
You want the game to have a healthy population right? Fixing people’s concerns around customization is the easiest way to fix this.

Even if you want to justify it as this is the way the world works, that doesn’t mean people have to be happy with it does it? Ideally the customers would have some say in the final product. Voting with our money is one way we can have a voice, but you know, using our voices is another way we can have a voice. There’s no guarantee anyone high up will listen, but if no one speaks up, surely they won’t listen.

Because I don’t like whiner about meaningless crap when there’s much more important issues to fix. And tbh I’m glad they are charging. Maybe if they make enough money we will see them fix the issues that actually need to be fixed and see more halo games in the future on a better timeframe too instead of 10 years between release’s
