There are just no decent free rewards in general. You can only really get an xp boost here, or a challenge swap there so you can what? See that you would have unlocked a thing and then buy the battlepass for the thing? It makes no sense.
I’m not going to spend money on microtransactions as they are just -Yoink!- value propositions that are extremely overpriced and rips out stuff that we used to have included with our base purchase of a halo game.
The multiplayer is F2P and they need to make money somehow. I get that, but his game isn’t F2P for me. I want to play the campaign. I want to fight aliens as Master Chief and overall, I’m going to have a wonderful time with the product but why am I not getting things that I used to get with my purchase? I can’t even customize the colors of my spartan how I want to.
If I’m getting less for my purchase, then maybe I should consider spending less. Co-op isn’t even coming until May. The campaign is guaranteed to be better 5 months from launch by this fact alone. If I have to wait 5 months for something as basic as playing the campaign with a friend then what’s to stop me from waiting even longer for a deep discount?
Come on now. It hasn’t even been released yet. Give them some time, they’ll probably fix everything eventually like they did H5. I know it downright sucks to not get full content right out of the gate, but that’s just par the course for high profile games these days. I’m just as frustrated with the lack of promised content. That doesn’t necessarily justify it, but we definitely should cut them some slack. We don’t know the hardships or troubles they had to go through to make the game, especially to make half of it free-to-play. I’m sure that hurt their budget some.
Or they could just release a damn game that isn’t loaded with issues. Every game 343 has released has been loaded with problems and people like you just keep on defending it because they might fix it later. When is later?

Yeah it’s actually funny how they delayed it a year and still had to delay more features further in order to avoid delaying the whole thing again, but let’s be real, if they needed 3 and 6 months extra, then really they want Halo out by holidays for that holiday cash money. 
Yes the mcc and infinite teams are separate possibly in the same studio idk that much but definitely different groups of people
I just want to be able to have a ‘NORMAL’ multiplayer games set up, not this always roll the dice and see what you get.
I guess you havent heard of the Federal REserve system… it has devalued the currency so much that we humans have to work more and gain more… but you also may have not heard of this other myth, called " The Free Lunch Myth" . I recommend it. Games used to cost 60 to buy and thats it… WoW is a Subscription based game. do you work? you know the programmers have to make some money to eat as well as the other employees, but I’m sure something else will rebut that. Go play GTA and tell me what they do different

Going back to Halo CE content wise is a step backwards. They bring back Halo Reach features yet make the customization for free players the level of CE? That’s odd. As for Destiny’s color feature being the inspiration for the armor coatings…why would you take notes from Destiny?

I agree with what most are saying in this thread. Vote with your wallet. And while they are only cosmetics, I think everyone agrees that this is some serious price gouging , and probably the worst backtracking on words 343i have said. What happened to what they said in an old dev blog post? Earn cosmetics through gameplay? Yikes.

Being complacent doesnt help. We have to let them know its bad, or theyll think its fine. Sure somethings might change on release, but they also might not. We cant make assumptions. We gotta work with what weve got

People like me? I love Halo. It’s not just a game series to me. I feel every blow you do when it comes to the downfalls and shortcomings. I just try to give the benefit of the doubt because I don’t actually know what it’s like to make a video game this big with this much pressure. I know I’m probably wrong, but I can’t help it.
I’m sorry but are you not able to spend money on this? Can you not purchase the battlepass yet? I can’t get behind this sentiment that it’s “not released” or that it’s in beta. Why should we cut them slack when they are asking for money for this game at this very moment?
This is a F2P title at this point in time and is deserving of criticism as it is at this point in time.
Imagine believing 343’s own words on why player customization is important and how there would be “some” premium cosmetics yet tons of ways to gain free items.

They just didn’t tell you a lot of those would be challenge swaps lol
You’re right. I was talking about the campaign portion regarding the unlockables, though. Looking back, I did reference the multiplayer too, so sorry for being confusing 
“back in my day” we didn’t even have save states. We needed to beat the game in a single run. 
I don’t think they 'll make the right choice anymore.
