Well everyone, it got worse

oh, i’m sorry… i should’ve been more specific. ‘forces you to buy said microtransactions if you want anything cosmetic based’. and yeah, i know the arguement of ‘oh it’s just cosmetic, shut up, it doesn’t change a thing’.
kinda doesn’t really work here, since this’s Halo. unlike CoD, halo actually cared about how you got your cosmetics. it all felt personal. like this IS your spartan, and if i recall right, 343 really wants to lean towards that, since how Reach did it was cool and awesome. but now 343 is just teasing us like ‘oh you want your own spartan to look bad -Yoink!-, or stylish in your own way? well pay up, because non of this is free. or stick with basic boi mk 7 and the SAME COLORED VISOR WITH SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT PATTERN THAT NO ONE IS GOING TO NOTICE, DESPITE THE VISOR STILL BEING THE SAME RED’ gah…

At least they gave everyone the options to be red, blue, green, etc. Back then that’s all there was! So yeah they put a pay wall for armor piece cosmetics,

I’m sure they’ll make more campaigns. They need people to buy something in between, look at halo 3, they made dlc maps and halo 3 ODST which was supposed to be a dlc I think? If everyone bought the base game and and didn’t buy any further then the game can’t even support its online servers.

Hmm… what doesn’t effect gameplay that we can charge players for? :face_with_monocle: :older_man: :skull_and_crossbones:

I hate to put it this way but they’re basically losing money if they don’t have enough cosmetics to sell in between campaigns :moneybag: :moneybag: :moneybag:

If the game was actually either a Halo game or fun to play, I would be happy to throw 343 a bone. But since it’s neither, blow it out your -Yoink!-.

but now 343 is just teasing us like ‘oh you want your own spartan to look bad -Yoink!-, or stylish in your own way? well pay up, because non of this is free.

It was never free though, you always paid for the game upfront with the campaign.

excuse me? what does the whole FREE TO PLAY mean to you? ya know, the whole multiplayer -v-
also also. if it meant there isn’t any of this nonsense microtransactions for cosmetics, i’d rather actually pay for the multiplayer and the campaign separately

Hey at this point if we’re lucky enough maybe if we own the campaign they’ll give us exclusive access to a store to buy more exclusive cosmetics :joy:

ssshhhhh! don’t give them ideas… they’re listening >_>

Grabbing popcorn and getting ready for the soon to be discovered details on the “free” fracture event. I wonder what they have in store (huehuehue, NOT SORRY).

At this point I’m not really surprise, but the campaign ain’t coming out until December so I guess nothing is officiel yet ? I wanted to supporte the game day one by bying the pass but now I will wait after finishing the campaign to see…

Well we “spend” our time playing a free game and they probably sell our play data to other companies :hushed:

Nothing in life is free yet, the best things in life are free!

And here I was thinking there are locked doors in the campaign, locked with a security code using a code consisting of 16 numbers ranging from 0 to 9. Then a date and lastly a three digit number along with a name specific to those numbers.
You’d need to enter that to open the door.

I think if there was a side mission to ask Craig for the code he’d be like, “No! You guys made fun of me! Bahh!” :scream:

Personally, don’t care much for cosmetics any more. As long as the game is fun to play, I will be there playing… but I understand part of the frustration you guys feel.

Mostly I hope 343 will address your concerns so that the player base won’t suffer and it keeps at healthy levels so that we can still find matches quickly.

Honestly, I’d rather wait and see until the actual campaign comes out. Yes, the multiplayer was predicted thanks to the dataminers, congrats to them for figuring it out, but the post mentions “armour lockers”, which I assume means something that can be interacted with in the campaign.

It’s entirely possible that just completing the game on Legendary would actually get you the complete armour set, like Halo 4 did according to a previous post.

I mean it’s not even released yet and we don’t know how much is preloaded vs what’s in an upcoming build.

Not to mention we’re talking about a 120 level BP in the works too.

So the hyperboil might be moot if they’re like “Yeah you’re not getting a bunch of cosmetics from the single player, but we added more levels and have a bunch more stuff in the MP”

Which even then, what is with this foaming at the mouth for cosmetics? Jfc play the game or don’t, Pokémon exists if you’re so hellbent on collecting things :stuck_out_tongue:

Just throwing it there but did anyone here play Halo when it originally released? Back then we didn’t have all this different stuff to make ourselves look “unique”. The only thing that should matter is if the game is good. I feel like there are more important things to look at then the way you look, like not being to launch different game types. If this is what is gonna kill this game for you I am sorry but I feel like you are missing out on the real important thing and that is that for the most part that 343i has finally made a multiplayer that feels like a good Halo game.

Those 500 dollar shoes do actually make you run faster! The B#st%rds are stopping me from getting a PB! No wonder I don’t get in the Olympics!

Hold on it’s not just the gaming industry…

More money better rewards. Suddenly everything is becoming so clear! Haha

Pointing this issue out does not mean there aren’t other issues being pointed out and posted about.

I was just amazed I could link up my Xbox with others and be all in the same game.

Although, we could do it with Doom on the PS1.

The game was just not about customisation back then. Problem is nowadays - every game is. So anybody born in the last two decades wants more. Snow ball effect.
