Well everyone, it got worse

I was really hoping for this. I for one would not mind giving $10-20 for individual pieces to get my whole armor set again right away and play and unlock everything else through gameplay.

Was going to say something like this.
It’s “fun” to see others be so against this kind of feedback, only to get the benefits of it later if the feedback is acted upon by i343.

How many were doing the same thing with Halo 4’s negative feedback, and then liked Halo 5 better than Halo 4?

Would be fun if these changes were made, only for those in favour of them, those against are happy as is, and would have things as they are now.

They’d be hypocrites if nothing else. Belittle the people pushing for change but then get quiet if positive change happens and reap the benefits. I think they’d realize they’d look pretty dumb if they slung venom 343’s way for “listening to the whiners” even if it made their progression system better.

Well, it’s in the wording and how they’ve done it, and how they continue.
So, the first battlepass is entirely free, we have access to it and can unlock things in it. However, they’ve implemented a premium tire which unlocks more items.

Now, the next Battlepass could very well be locked for everyone untill it’s payed for.
This means the first battlepass is free, it’s just extremely limited.

I suspect this will be the case, and a reason for that is that the battlepasses never expire, also why there’s no premium currency in them.

See, if I can access any battlepass and progress in it, if it never expires I can level all of them to max level and then buy them later. If premium currency was available, the same would apply, or the battlepasses would be more expensive.
I grind a battlepass untill it’s done, purchase it, get premium, use it to cheapen another battlepass and so forth.

But wait, there’s more.
This BP has a premium “feature”, what’s the possibility of future Battlepasses having a normal level, which is free for us now, and a premium level?
We’d pay for the normal, then extra for premium.
Feels like they wouldn’t discard that premium feature for a single battlepass.

It’s crazy that the cover has Master Chief in his beautiful Mark VI armor, literally the character that makes Halo … Halo, and we can’t even select to play him in Multiplayer without spending time and money in addition to the money spent on campaign

In this particular case, they’d reap the rewards, no?
If i343 is to add armor pieces to unlock in the campaign, as an example. Those in this thread who are now wailing on those providing negative feedback would also be unlocking the armor pieces, implemented due to the negative feedback they’ve been wailing on.

Isn’t that how it should work though?

woop de do… more sodding ARMOR COATINGS… i mean they’re nice and all, but really. that’s it? coatings, terrible charms, and one stance… not even a chief core/kit? just coatings -v-
these may be nice and all… but it ain’t worth it. it just rubs more in the face of everyone the fact being ‘pay for stuff you want, you ain’t getting anything else if you don’t pay’
now i’m going to mention a game, some may or may not be familiar with, a game called Super Animal Royal. a BR game, that’s free. decent player base, bots, BP, and two shops: one for per match money, and one for payment money, but both offer good cosmetic items, just one offers slightly better items than the other. weapon skins, some you get just by using the weapon. actually not bad cosmetics for achievements. very simple ones at that, like playing the game. and i tell you what… this game… made by a small team, and that is also FREE TO PLAY, felt more rewarding and worthwhile to play than INFINITE IS. it’s sad how big boi companies are only focussing on money and that’s it. not the consumers. honestly i’m lossing hope on the actual campaign itself…

Seeing as how the Multiplayer was launched unfinished with many politics at play to release it in that state, it may as well be a spiritual focus on Halo CE, since the original came out in an unfinished state as well. It was just lucky the game was released with enough accidents that allowed the community to make it more than what Bungie thought it could be.

I was looking through today, the ‘free’ stuff is mostly going to be unwanted. I can’t believe the amount of armour behind the paywall.

yeah, but that was with CE. a VERY rocky devolopement from start to launch. THIS was a 3-5 year game in the making, a LONG time, with a new engine that 343 made themselves. 343 has potentially more money and time to make this. CE was bounced all over the place from mac to microsoft, and was changed from a RTS to a FPS. Infinite HAS an identity, as HALO, it hasn’t changed and has stayed with 343/microsoft. there’s no excuse that Infinite released like this, unlike with the older games

I agree, but I feel Infinite has had a rocky development similarly. It’s almost like they were trying to build the game up from the ground up, as a new start. (though it still feels similar to Halo 5 in part). Regardless, there’s no excuses as you mentioned.

Yep, they should make everything for free. Forever.

Did Activision take over 343?

and fill it with useless microtransactions but the game contrives itself to force you to buy said microtransactions. and even then you wont get what you want, so you HAVE to pay 10x more for something that shouldn’t even be a pay to get thing… honestly it saddens me that people are rewarding 343 with this system…

Even Activision doesn’t have monetization this bad. This is on an entirely new level, i have never played a game in my entire life with monetization as bad as this and i’ve played a ton of f2p games.

Yeah I’ve been listening to that “Halo 2 Artifacts” podcast and I never knew most of that stuff about halo ce. I highly recommend that podcast to anyone interested in hearing about the tough calls bungie had to make back in the golden days, well I think Infinite will take us back there :gem:

I must have got a different version of the game, mine has all of the cosmetics as optional purchases.

Sorry, I meant EA for over monetization of a game

Well, I mean we don’t have his armor in 4 or 5 either, which still sucks. I’m hoping it’ll be in Infinite at some point alongside his current Gen3.
