Please look at my gamer picture, I remember finding all of the ODST audio logs in Halo 3: ODST just to get an avatar customization! I think I’m aware of how halo has worked in the past with their campaign customization rewards
I agree that I would have enjoyed an armor unlock of some sort, especially after paying $60 for a campaign. Halo has always been a game where they release their final product after making tough choices. Just look at the ending of halo 2 (which was epic ). With that in mind Halo Infinite was delayed so I’m not surprised if some cosmetics didn’t make it to launch.
I wouldn’t be surprised if ideas from what could of been a campaign armor reward make it’s way into a fracture event. Hopefully they give away enough free content in the future to satisfy everyone’s customization addiction.
I think it’s good when the Halo community speaks out against 343’s decisions. I hope they take the good and the bad feedback into consideration and apply them reasonably into future implementations of Halo Infinite so that everybody’s happy.
There will always be those who don’t agree with everything. It is that freedom of expression that paves the way to greatness That’s why I read and type on the forums, because I want Halo Infinite to be great
How can you not “bash” people’s ideas in a public forum? The definition of “forum” on Google states the following.
Forum:
The public square or marketplace of an ancient Roman city that was the assembly place for judicial activity and public business.
A public meeting place for open discussion.
A medium for open discussion or voicing of ideas, such as a newspaper, a radio or television program, or a website.
By the way Halo CE didn’t have armor customizations so it’s be less then 20 years, and since Halo Infinite is like a spiritual report heavily focused on Halo CE…
As for someone who has maxed out the whole battle pass, I wish they would have implemented all of Reach customization.
Where is Pilot and Mariner with attachments?
Why can’t I use Security shoulder piece alone ?
Why only 2 armor effects, where are the rest ?
Why 10$ for each bundle daily ? I’m broke lol.
I do feel for the people who don’t mind supporting 343 with buying credits, make the armor sets and skins worth while, and give players more choices who can’t afford or don’t want to buy armor or skins.
Armor colors in H1 is armor customization. It’s not as expansive or fleshed out as other titles in the series but it definitely is armor customization. They are monetizing colors in Halo Infinite so it’s definitely related.
I feel you buddy. I didn’t buy the battlepass, but if it had the Mark V. I would have been sorely tempted.
They messed up some chest pieces. Carters and Jun’s are supposed to come with bu tt packs.
It feeds my frustration and I am kinda glad that they messed it up, since it makes me see the situation with clarity.
I just woke up to this news and it makes me pretty sad, I was hoping the campaign pass was an actually good battlepass since it costs £50. Lol it should at least have a few armour pieces, not just emblems and colours which are free or largely earnable in previous games
I won’t add to the vitriol. I’m not happy with this system. I was holding out hope campaign would bring some free earnable armor. This is disappointing and now confirms all meaningful customization is locked behind pay walls. I won’t pay to meaningfully customize my spartan. That is stupid and this new system they have is stupid. I can’t adequately express how frustrated I am due to forum rules.
Here’s the funny thing: there is no reason to be so rigidly in favor of the F2P system Infinite uses right now. There are improvements that can be made that would only benefit the community across the board.
Let’s say 343 makes the prices in the cash shop more reasonable. Lower prices may lead to more people actually dropping some cash. If the argument is they need to make money, why be against that happening?
Let’s say 343 offers something like Destiny 2 does with its armor and colors. You can mix and match your armor pieces no problem. You can apply your shaders to practically any gear you want. Why be against less restrictions?
Let’s say 343 offers a way to get certain cosmetics outside of the battle pass. Maybe they pull another Destiny 2 and offer something akin to Bright Dust, an in-game currency used to purchase select armor and weapon ornaments emotes, shaders, and ships that isn’t the Silver you buy with cash. Each week a new selection is available and you can use this different currency to get whatever is available. Who would be harmed by that? You can still buy it with cash if you want.
Let’s say 343 makes the battle pass less of a slog in terms of earning XP. Destiny 2 gives you tons of bounties (not unlike challenges) that you can complete to boost your XP gains. Far as I can tell there is no limit either. Only issue I see is people burning through the pass quickly…but you can do that if you just buy all the levels anyway .
I only see benefits. Frankly, it seems like so many are for the way things are out of spite. Doesn’t matter if it’s against their self-interest, they just want to make fun. Which, given all the accusations of people criticizing the system being children, is hilariously ironic.
This isn’t the first day. They have had 20 years of history to look at and see what fans like. And roughly 9 years of that time span was with them in charge, getting direct complaints, criticism, feedback, etc.
They also know free-to-play crap isn’t loved by anyone. They know what fans expect and want.
You spent near, if not over, $200 on this… I mean people can buy what they want… but sorry to say, people like you are the exact reason this game is in such a poor state in terms of customization and progression. Stop giving these companies money when they don’t deserve it.
Smh exactly, will see what happens Dec 8. The game is solid, most fun I done with halo in a while. But it seems progression & limited armor is stopping Halo Infinite Multiplayer from being flawless.
I meant “armor piece” customizations. From what I hear from the OP, the campaign will have “armor coating” rewards. So what I’m saying is they’re rewarding us Halo CE style, like when that was the only type of customization that was available back then
The F2P method is a good idea, but the fact that there are a lot of paywalls is kinda’ concerning. Even though all of the paywalls are all cosmetic rewards, which isn’t really a big deal, it’s still brings the attention of why 343 has everything armor and accessory-related behind $10-20 around. It puts off a bad name for what they’re trying to do for the fans.
Why not just have a portion of the armor in a catalog that you can by individual pieces for a fair price?
You could get exactly what you want.
I would support a system that allowed you to mix and match the exact set you want for reasonable prices. I was a single guy when I played Reach. I was able to devote a lot of time to the game. I am a family man now with a child.
They really should have just given us the Reach armor out of the gate though. Some people are grinding out out for the third time at this point. It would have been a great gesture from 343i and probably made a lot of people quiet.
If I remember correctly, wasn’t the first season supposed to be free for all players? I feel like 343 lied about that part about the premium track being free for the first season when they did the multiplayer vidoc.
I mean, that’s precisely what Destiny 2 does as well. They have their ornaments and skins available for individual purchase, in bundles, AND as curated selections you can buy with in-game currency you actually earn. I see no reason Infinite cannot do the same outside of people being opposed to it because they just want to be nasty.
Yeah they straight up shot themselves in the foot with this, its just mobile game levels of greed when it comes to dropping cash.
There are lots of things they could do to fix the system from lowering prices to allowing earnable credits, but I doubt they will do either to be honest. They’ve had plenty of time to change things for the better and instead they’re making it harder for people to get or do anything.
I feel all I can do as a player is continue to provide feedback and complain about it while not spending any money, fingers crossed the campaign is good though since they delayed co op yet again
It invites HACKERS on PC to just keep trying again and again because there’s no box cost to deter them
It will ultimately have a huge surge of players at first that will move on to the next game that comes along because that’s what the F2P audience does.
There are millions of Halo fans ready and willing to pay for Campaign+Multiplayer, and even Campaign Expansions, and if 343 would want to charge for new armors and various customizations to enable them to produce new multiplayer maps for free, we’d be down for it.
