If you are not willing to spent more than $60, 343 just does not give a damn about you. It’s all about the money.
That’s actually -Yoink!- hilarious. Can’t even get Mk VI armor for your Mk VII armor core. Honestly this is pretty disgusting.
Which shows how low theyve fallen. Sure companies need to make money, but as someone in the industry myself, making games is about making something people enjoy, to have fun and express themselves. Not nikel and diming your customers into oblivion
There are way better ways of generating revenue. The fact they couldn’t even spare a single armor set…in armor lockers…is so nakedly transparent.
Its downright vile. They literally want to ensure free/campaign players get as little as possible so they have to pay for even the slightest chance at looking unique

You really think Microsoft coerced 343 Industries to not include a single armor in the armor lockers? Made them give campaign players the bare minimum? Please.
And yet Forza Horizon 5 has incredible customization and its the same parent company.
Most of the blame definitely has to go to 343.
I’m gonna go out on a limb and guess that none of these coatings work for any core other than Mk VII.
I can’t imagine being so twisted up about something that doesn’t have any impact on gameplay whatsoever, and that you only even see in menus and at game start.

If customization doesn’t matter, why is 343 so aggressively monetizing? I know folks like to selectively forget that people have cared about this so they can pretend to be disappointed with other fans, but we all know that’s all it is, pretending.
How do they create MCC, then make something like this, its worse than COD’s monetization, I’d rather have req packs again
This is a pretty bad take. While I agree gameplay is the most important factor, and the gameplay is great, people expect a certain amount of customization when it comes to a Halo game, and really any game in general.
Missing the mark on this feature is reason enough for anyone to be pretty peeved about this. I’m not to happy about it, but I can get over it because I enjoy the gameplay. But not everyone has my opinions, or yours. Nor should you expect them to.
Just because we care about customization doesn’t mean we don’t care about the rest of the game. I’m playing and having fun. The game is my most enjoyed since Reach. And I’m sure I’ll enjoy the campaign. But that doesn’t mean I have to be happy with the cosmetics does it? They’ve been in the game since Halo 1 with colors, and up until Reach each game just got more and more customization options. Forgive players if they care about something that’s been a part of Halo since the beginning.
I thought it was cool beating all the campaigns on the MCC on Legendary would get you that sweet Helioskril in Halo 5. Now the best they can do is some paint jobs in Infinite. Like, why?
These kids nowadays…. Smh. In halo ce we didn’t have customized armor… lmfao we played to shoot each other nothing more. The customizations don’t make the player better so who cares honestly if they are charging money for it. You don’t go and complain that nike has a 500$ shoe because you are stuck wearing 20$ shoes? Shoes are made to walk in and if u want to look cooler you have to pay for it.
You’re comparing to a game that came out 20 years ago. You don’t sit around wearing the same shoes from 20 years ago when every other shoe has proper insoles today do you?
