So 343 finally gave us the update to the MCC and thats great. One of the bullet points they expressed is the fix to the “Downloading the latest matchmaking data” issue. I performed the update, got ready to play but lo and behold the same issue comes back. Has anyone else in the Halo community ran into this issue after updating their game?
Please share your issue and any solutions if you happen to have fixed it.

The issue has been patched but not fixed entirely. It still comes up from time to time. Be patient and it’ll go away
I’ve been resetting routers and trying again and again since he update. Have yet to be able to play a match. Not going away for me… 
I only had that issue once and after closing the game and restarting it, it worked fine. hope yours fixes soon.
Hold the power button down until the Xbox shuts off then unplug the power cord from the back of the Xbox for a few seconds and then relaunch the game. Had the downloading latest data twice and doing that cleared it.

This seems to work a good chunk of the time.
Have you tried deleting local saved data?
I am having the same issue. I am so far beyond pissed, it is ridiculous. It is absolutely unacceptable for a game to be unplayable, so long after launch. Fix the -Yoinking!- game.
Everything seems to be working fine for me, try hard resetting it perhaps.
343 is trash. I literally get that “download latest matchmaking data” every time I start up Halo MCC.
