Well 343 Has Done It Again

So I was playing the MCC I noticed that the PVP players now I have 9 challenges that they can do to earn points but as campaign players were left with 6 been saying it for a long time they really cater to the PVP players if they’re going to get upgrades to their challenge system so should the campaign players oh and I almost forgot I think the find and destroy 3 Moa statues should be upgraded to 2 points as well

I dont see any reason the rewards should be lopsided one side or another.

If people wanted PVP only challenges/rewards they could go play games without PvE like Infinite.

Its meant to encourage a PvP population to continue existing, as the numbers are a lot lower than they were at (re)launch.

Its likely that if they were even, less people would have any incentive to be playing PvP.

While the challenges dont populate on my end, my understanding is there are supposed to be 3 new Halo 4 challenges - the intent of those challenges is to drive users to test out the newly added abilities to H4.

I’ll admit I haven’t done the math but without these extra challenges I’m pretty sure the rewards are similar, no?

I was curious so I went and did the math.

PVE actually offers more XP Rewards (2.425M vs 1.9M) and the same amount of Spartan Points.

I don’t have access to the H4 specific challenges, so this is assuming the normal 13/13 in both categories.

Well it is not encouraging me mainly because I don’t enjoy PVP I prefer campaign the storyline I mean the storyline is what got me interested in Halo to begin with not the player versus player I mean I know most of the stuff you can’t use in campaign but you can at least use the vehicle and weapon skins in some of the games I wish some more of the unlocks were usable in campaign but I am not in charge of the game so that will probably never happen

What do you mean 13/13 categories the PVP is now 16 in the campaign is still only 13

As aforementioned I cannot see the extra 3 PVP for some reason, but before this the “norm” is to have 13 in each category.

What an unusual item to complain about. The entirety of the challenge and spartan points system exists mostly to serve the multiplayer component. All titles except Reach don’t support campaign armor customization and skins were added after their debut in multiplayer modes. There is nothing stopping you from jumping into custom games to knock out the additional PvP challenges with extreme ease. The concept that a player can only be PvP or PvE is a silly notion.

The 3 challenges were to showcase the new H4 loadouts so my guess is it will probably go back to normal next week.

-Console Support

-Microsoft Windows Store Mod Support
-Modded map support for Custom Games Browser
-Campaign Co-Op Support for Modded content
-Mod Support for Steam Deck MCC
-Easy way to copy/paste mod files from Nexus upload to Steam Workshop

If we can get stuff like this, I feel like MCC will become immortal. I actually believe that. Games like Skyrim, L4D2, TF2, CS:GO, they’re all like a decade old or so and people still play them. I think lessons could be learned from games like Skyrim and Left 4 Dead 2 when it comes to mod support, especially Left 4 Dead 2 since it supports Campaign Co-Op for modded content via dedicated servers. I would love to see support for that come to MCC.

Oh, and maybe something that allows us to use the visuals for anniversary remastered models for the Halo CE and H2A campaigns. I understand that those particular assets are some kind of pak files and not something that you would normally mod. But I just enjoy for example the H2A Campaign Model for the Plasma Rifle more than the H2A Multiplayer model.

I don’t think basically any changes to Campaign in any way would affect MP at all tbh.

How I’d like Campaign catered to:

  1. Some more challenges.

  2. Player model playable in each title. This is a cool thing that adds greater value to customization.

  3. Improved metagame and fixed Leaderboards.

  4. Make each Campaign Playlist have uniquely remixed enemies, allies, weapons, vehicles, grenades and equipment. With leaderboards for each.

That’s just a few things, that result in a hell of a lot of content/replayability.

Those extra challenges are based off old achievements probably just to get people to use the new h4 perks

I get that what annoys me is that they only added challenges to the PVP part I know you can’t use those enhancements in campaign but they could have added some other challenges to the campaign that you could do like stick 50 enemies with plasma grenades in
Halo 4 I wish I could use this enhancements in campaign that would be freaking awesome at least in my opinion

Well, except that the PvP challenges for SP are only for matchmaking, not customs.

Sorry I was strictly referring to the additional challenges in PvP this week. The three H4 challenges are all available for custom games.

‘Oh, and also they need to implement offline bot support.’ Fixed.

Chill.

We just got back dated points for every level over 100, and those ‘new challenges’ are temporary, and can be done in custom games.
