Welcome to your nightmare

To those of you who play Halo 5 in the true spirit of the game, I am apologizing in advance, this has nothing to do with you.
I’ve conducted a simple experiment with Halo 5 Gaurdians and have discovered a disturbing trend. I logged and kept statistics on my last 40 games. Given the small sample size, I will need more time to compile data on a better representative sample, however the trends are there. Out of my first 20 games (all of which I played to completeion) my win percentage was 40%. Of those 20 games I was top killer or highest KDA 15 times. Even at +20 KDA I still lost games, which is still possible. My concern is with the likelihood with which performance is rewarded with appropriate win percentage. Despite what you think, your gameplay is not an accurate representation of skill level.
The second 20 games were a sample in which I did not play to my average. Yes, I intentionally sandbagged and his to see if the game would be affected. Guess the results…55% win percentage. This indicates that no matter how well or poorly you play, with few exceptions, you are not in control of the outcome.
Which leads to my last point. Halo is a “game” which many, including myself have enjoyed over the years. The term game implies equal sides which follow the same rules, and a victor being the best player. Even with a team game such as slayer these rules apply. If Microsoft and 343 determine the outcome regardless of your ability it is no longer a game. It is entertainment which requires little to know work on your part.

Because CSR is more “team” weighted and not individual performance. So if you don’t play with the same four players consistently then your CSR may not represent your skill.

When you play with random players you are going to get random results.

Very true, I’ve been playing for 10+ years and yes the variability within players is a factor. However, my personal game play while variable doesn’t account for playing the same players game in and out and literally rolling the dice as to the outcome. You don’t play a team and beat them by 25 and lose to the same team by 25 the next. Even the laws of chance rule that out. I’m talking about a genuine manipulation of outcome. Accuracy on players going from 25% to 60% . Glitching which causes players to commit suicide in sudden death. Kicking you out at the end of a game where you are top killer, you lose these matches. I used to think it was just the ebb and flow of the game when I started tracking numbers and it doesn’t even come close to averaging out.

Have you noticed that there was a lot of 152 with 90plus win rate?
Well at least they did like 7 or so months ago.
But really playing with randoms against randoms will avg 50/50.
Just like flipping a quarter 1000 times. It will avg close to 50/50.
