Welcome to Discourse!

What all will be carrying over?

Love that all Microsoft sites have switched to Discourse!

We’ve used it at XboxEra on our forums for the last year, and it’s awesome! Lots of folks used to Xenforo will have to grapple with the changes though.

Loving it! this is such a refreshment, still going to miss the old waypoint but hey we got to move forward. :sunglasses: :v:

“New is always better!” Obviously not really, but I’m initially impressed by this new setup. It’s nice to be on the ground floor of new forums (and games). Infinite can’t get here fast enough.

Nice new layout, hopefully old problems are fixed regarding old service records and waypoint unlocks, thanks for the hard work!

The new Forums do be lookin’ slick indeed.

Can’t wait for what is to come in the future.

Hope there’s some cool badges to come, maybe even new profile flair as well!

@Kirbydog18 uhh not sure… how you get it fixed

I’m actually liking this new interface.

Based on the list of forum badges, there exist 2 different badges of interest called “Certified” and “Licensed” that are unlocked through completing the new user and advanced user tutorial respectively.

Based on this, how do I find and complete all of these tutorials in order to get a more complete overview of how the forum functions?

I also need these two, apparently a link is sent via PM but I deleted my messages from “system” accidentally

So when can I have a flair and other cool things? :stuck_out_tongue:

You have to respond to the bot that sent you your welcome message.

Are some of the old pinned threads gonna come back? Like Menke’s MMR FAQ threads for example.

Hopefully once the old threads are migrated over. If they aren’t pinned they can at least be bookmarked for easy access.

My profile didn’t seem to come over and my username seems off. I assume just things that will get fixed?
I can’t change any of my profile items or picture either. Odd.

Hmmm one thing I noticed is that the original post of a thread cant be edited after a day has past. Would be particularly useful for threads that deal with stuff that have updates and so on.

I understand replys as you’d want to keep the flow of the discussion intact. But the original post of a thread may benefit from that if its possible as they are often the first post users will read, and letting the OP update that post may help users jump into the thread instead of trying to catch up potientially a lot of messages.

Just a thought anyhow!

The new forum looks quite amazing,
it fits the Halo theme pretty well, nicely done!
And look at all the emojis, these are amazing too! (Loving it!) :heartpulse:
Please take the medal! :trophy:

I also believe that you should be able to update a post well after one day. It could be useful for updating information, fixing grammar mistakes, etc.

I had the same issue. It appeared as if I had logged into someone else’s account. It showed that my profile already had activity on it. Including saying that I had been making threads and posts as well as liking and receiving likes. It showed that I had a different name also. Logging out and in again appears to have fixed it.

Another issue that I have encountered is posts being flagged and hidden despite there being absolutely nothing wrong with them. There also being no way to dispute them.
