A strange but highly effective aiming tip for everyone… If you really feel like things are off, make note of the way you are sitting. Honestly, if I don’t sit a certain way when I play, my aiming gets all sorts of funky and it becomes hard for me to really focus.
Sometimes the distance between you and the TV is a factor too, just your all-round gaming set up, where you sit, how you sit, etc… Make sure you’re comfortable, where you can really get focused and into the game. It makes a HUGE difference and your movement and strafing and aim will be better for it!
for me, sitting on the floor against my couch, or on the edge of my couch leaning forward. music or headphones, doesnt matter as much as long as i can tune everything out.
Yeah, I can totally relate to this. If I sit to far away from the TV, or am in an odd position, it definitely messes up my shot. I’m actually opposite of Sacr3d, I can’t have my arms resting on anything, my legs also can’t be propped up as I’ve learned. Seems pretty nitpicky, but for me these factors really do matter.
I have to sit upright in a chair with my arms resting on my legs while usually having on of my legs tucked under the other. Weird right? Lol I can actually play without my leg being tucked under the other one, however if I don’t do anything else that a I mentioned then I play very inconsistently. Then again im a bad player in general I think so my opinion isn’t much to go off of.

I agree with this 100%. If usually sit Indian style or with one leg tucked under the other. If i sit with both feet on the ground it doesn’t feel right. I don’t think it actually messes with my aim, but it makes me uncomfortable which in turn makes me play worse in general.

exactly, I used to play leaning forward a lot until my back really hurt as a result of it, now I have changed to sitting back in my chair but my elbows are no longer on my legs and it puts my shot off
lighting - sitting position - distance from screen - surroundings(don’t have any light sources behind your screen and make sure there is no glare from lights in your room) - temperature - headphones (don’t use your speakers!) - using a wire to connect my controller to my xbone so as to reduce input lag - Ethernet - hyper-ness (go for a short walk or whatever so that you are not hyper active and can concentrate properly) - distractions (if you have your setup in the lounge like me , then people walking around etc can really put you off) - peripheral vision (wear a hoodie or whatever so as to make the screen the only thing you can see so as to increase concentration)
Here’s another interesting one. Some weapons (e.g. BR, DMR, Magnum, etc.) have an inner and an outer reticle. If you focus on the inner reticle, your aiming may see improvements. This will also help you control the DMR’s bloom. The center circle expands when you take shot. If you wait a bit between shots, your accuracy will greatly improve.

When I have trouble aiming, then I make myself concentrate when I encounter an enemy by blocking out all other thoughts and holding my breath. It’s particularly effective when I’m gunning on a Gauss hog.

I’m pretty sure that any visible DMR/Magnum bloom is purely cosmetic… As long as you’re hitting the target, you can pop off as many shots, max RoF and they will still be perfectly accurate.
Spartans hate him! Improve you’re aiming skills with one weird trick. Here’s how!
Anyways, I’ve noticed this too. If I’m on a couch my aiming sucks but when I’m in a bean bag chair and I sit a certain way I aim a lot better. It’s weird but it works.
