15.38% chance of getting one of the CTF games in ranked. 50% chance of winning it. There is a 7.69% chance of making progress towards the challenge when you queue.

So I’ve got this weekend off work so I could grind put this challenge, but I’m thinking I don’t even want the reward it’s more a completionist thing for me.
But if I don’t complete it then there goes my ability to have earned all the challenges which then means I no longer have any motivation to do any weekly challenges ever again unless there is an item I actually want (which on the evidence so far suggests is unlikely).
That means my motivation for playing Halo has taken a serious blow, so I play less, which means 343 has less chance of me spending money.
So fine, have it your way 343, you won’t miss me but I’m sure there will be others that just start or already have given up then realise they are happier as a result.

For me the time to find a game in Ranked is noticeably worse than the other game modes, I think 343 has likely put this challenge in place to try and force people to play Ranked for longer because not enough people are playing it.

Omg this is exactly my thought process right now.
To put such a luck based reward in has really put me off and it was these rewards that were keeping me playing.
Once I’ve missed one reward though I don’t see my motivation being maintained (let’s face it, they’ve not been great rewards anyway).
So I’m thinking this might be it for me right now. Might return for season 2 (unless I do somehow manage to get the reward this week)

I know 343 would never do it but I’d love for them to say how long it takes an average player (both with and without the BP) not using any challenge swaps to complete their full set of weekly challenges for this week plus the ultimate challenge.
Speaking as a typical player who has a job and other obligations that keep me from playing Infinite for more than an hour on the weekdays, I usually complete the Challenges and Ultimate before the weekend even starts. And I don’t use my Challenge Swaps.
I’d probably have had the Ultimate done on Friday but I got wrapped up in a BTB marathon with my brother.

There should be an option in the solo duo subtype of ranked to vote for the game mode of play. In solo duo it would make the vote fair because at most 2 people at a time would be able to coop there votes. This would be giving the community a chance to show what’s popular to 343 even when no challenge is associated. This is an obvious untapped marketing statistic. They could get great data on community interests. They could find out where to put more work in to those data points to keep community engagement. More engagement means more opportunities for sales in the shop. Instead using rng burns players out and people just stop playing. I love halo but I’m about to stop because it’s so frustrating.
Yeah its pretty horrible should have at the least been play CTF games, not win them.

Challenges need to get deleted outta the game. I have ZERO positive things to say about them, but straight up a laundry-list of how challenges are a massive net negative for the game experience.

9 - slayer
6 - stronghold
1- flag
I dunno if its because Behemoth flag was removed but this is hella frustrating to even have a chance at.

My thoughts exactly.
After finishing the battle pass, the only thing I feel like I can do is complete every challenge, and I have up until this week’s.
And Now I’ve spent close to 20 hours to only get 1 win in CTF. I think I have lost all motivation to play this game at this point.
Even if there is a fix at some point in the future, if I miss this week’s challenge, then my record will be 99.9% challenges completed. First world problem, but still a problem, and something they could have easily fixed several weeks ago when the entire community was telling them it is a problem.

Heck, if it was win any CTF games it’d have been better, then at least you can play quickplay, BTB or ranked.

We should have the option of filtering the game types we want after we select a playlist.
Then there should be an estimated total number of players in the game types you’ve selected so you can gauge how long you might need to wait. Or it could show as a percentage of players)
I remember this was a great feature of Rocket League (incidentally also a free to play game) when I played that a while back.
Do you know which online games have this kind of feature? I know Mario Kart lets players vote from a predetermined set of tracks, or you can opt for a random one instead

The odds of the playlist have to be rigged as well. I’ve played for around 8+ hours this weekend and have got CTF 4 times…one game that started 3v4.
No doubt 343 manipulation on how frequent CTF is popping up. Not surprising from a shady dev or the state the game is currently in.

Honestly the challenge itself is not bad. It just that you would be spending hours hoping to get matchmade in ranked CTF only to get matchmade with something else.
I only managed to get one CTF and won, all the rest were slayer or oddball. It sucks when you can’t choose the game type you want.
It worst that you can get banned temporarily if you quit 2 - 3 matches. I unfortunately have to wait a while till I can matchmade ranked again.
