The challenges are designed keep you playing the game each week for hours and hours. 343 said after the 17 win ultimate challenge that they would be easier each week but this one is another headstratcher.
You have a slim chance of even getting CTF to begin with, and now you have to string together 3 wins once you get the gamemode. I understand the challenge is supposed to be a challenge but what would be wrong with having an ultimate challenge of obtaining 5 flag medals in pvp (flag return, flag capture, kill an enemy returning their flag, flag kill, flag assist, flag carrier kill).

Finally got a CTF game. My second one since yesterday when I started this BS grind. We lost. Why, you ask? Quitter on our team made it a 3v4. We did our best but it’s back to HOURS of grinding for this BS hoping for a CTF match.

Just got my 3rd CTF game today. Another loss. But once I got out of the game it now says I’m banned? For effing what 343?!

I guess there’s a way to cancel matchmaking after a match is found, you can see map and game type in the fire team section after you find a match. Apparently can cancel and research fairly quickly.
I assume this is why I start a decent number of games where a team only has 3 players.

This is why I won’t buy any BP. Most of it is just padded playtime because 343 didn’t have any content to add to the game.
If I wanted to do stupid things that are pointless, I can easy play the broken game called D2.

You nailed it. A challenge with the goal “win 3 CTF match” is ok. But where is the CTF playlist? Do i have to spend hours just to get a CTF match and hope to win because i dont know how many match i have to play until the next CTF match pops up?

This exactly. I am still with regular challenges and needed either strongholds or CTF for my challenges (so 50% chance you would say…). I took me hours to finaly get one, just to have it with me and 3 other average players against a whole team of extremely skilled players, because the SBMM is so immensely weak and broken.
So i still couldn’t get my challenge done, it is so extremely frustrating.

I played 7 hours yesterday. Got CTF twice (thanfully won both). Played 4 hours today so far, only got it once and it was a tie. I have NEVER seen CTF as rare in match-making as it is this week. Definitely something funky going on, which isn’t saying much with the state of this game

I’m having a similar experience tonight. Just played 14 games in a row. Got CTF on game 14. Two of my teammates were sandbags…one of them decided to quit as well. Needless to say we lost. This weekly is depressing.

I have been in ranked for literally hours with no ctf. THIS IS BULLS***! You should NEVER have the last challenge you cannot swap something on the ranked playlist!!! This is TERRIBLE!!!

Good point OP. The real question here is weather anyone actually cares about getting and using this backdrop.
I got CTF once out of ten games so far so it’s already a slog.

Yeah I really don’t think 343 put any thought into this challenge, wouldn’t be the first time.
Let’s say you have a 50% chance of winning.
That means you have to play 6 ranked CTF games.
1/6th of the ranked playlist is CTF.
Let’s say you get 1 CTF game for every 2 hours (for me it’s been longer than that without 1).
That would mean you would have to play for 12 hours to complete a single challenge. That’s more than 1/4 of a full time working week.

Awesome, 2.5 hours to finally get a game of ranked CTF and one of our team get’s D/C right at the start and we lose by 1 cap.

Since my brother had some surgery done, we actually got to connect online and play Halo Infinite for most of the day today while he was recovering. With BTB having been fixed, we just played that for hours and hours, having a blast, with him expressing his enjoyment of the increased heavy vehicle spawns by going on a joyride with a couple Scorpions and a Wraith, and it was a fun day all around.
Sure would’ve been nice if our CTF Wins had counted for the Ultimate though.
Now, my brother doesn’t care about the Challenges and I wasn’t going to force him to do Ranked with me on the off chance that we not only get a Ranked CTF match but also win it. We just wanted to play for the fun of it, BTB is where we get our most fun, and we did with me intending to get those Ranked CTF games on my own time.
Nonetheless, this is a consequence of such a restrictive nature of the Challenge system that can really suck and an example that just happened that I’d like to toss out. Like I said earlier, I don’t mind that the Ultimate is CTF Wins. But restricting those wins in a game mode that spans multiple playlists and reducing it to a single playlist really is frustrating - especially when its Ranked.

Didn’t they also remove Behemoth from ranked?
So of 7 maps, only 5 of them are in ranked (Bazaar, Aquarius, Streets, Live Fire, and Recharge). Of those 5, only 2 are CTF compatible (Bazaar and Aquarius). And you have a 1/4 chance of even rolling for CTF. I’m sure someone knows the math on what the likelihood of getting CTF is.
