I completed four sets in firefight like I was supposed to, but I didn’t get the challenge. How can I contact 343 and get this bs straightened out? This isn’t the first time I have had problems like this, and I do not want to play it again. It’s not a fun challenge.

- Make sure you’re completing the challenge in co-op
- Make sure you enable infinite sets and lives
- Make sure you get entirely through the fourth set. You need to get to set 5 to complete the challenge. It’s not just reach set 4, it’s complete set 4.
- Once you’re in a firefight game, press start and check to see if the challenge is acceptable
- If it doesn’t work, try again, or with a new partner.

Yeah. I played local co-op. It was lit up in the challenge menu during the game, which means I had the right settings (it’s darkened when a challenge can’t be completed). At the post-carnage screen, it showed four sets completed as well, but I didn’t get the challenge completion.

I set it to play four sets, so after the fourth bonus round, the game ended. The challenge is to complete four sets. It doesn’t say reach the fifth set to complete it, so I’d expect to get it.

I already wasted more than an hour on it. No way am I playing it again.

Yes, but you need to reach the fifth set for the game to register that you completed the fourth set. That’s why you didn’t receive credit for the challenge. Do the challenge again and make sure you reach the fifth set.
Also, with the right settings, the challenge can be done in less than 30 minutes. That’s how long it took me, not sure how you managed over an hour.
I can attest to it not working. My son and I went into Firefight together on local and set everything to things like invulnerable, bottomless clip, adn reached up to the sixth set, and yet no credit for the challenge. There must be a specific set of acceptable settings for it. Can someone who actually got credit for it, please post up there exact settings when performing it?

I believe it has to be completed co-op over Live with two separate gamertags, it cannot be completed locally or with a guest.
If that’s not the case, then there seems to be a bug for some people. Like I said earlier, contact bs angel or @HaloWaypoint if you can’t figure it out. I completed it with a friend over LIve with no problems whatsoever.

Judging from your game history, it looks like you did six rounds. I could be wrong though.
5 waves = 1 round
3 rounds = 1 set
set your custom FF games to 5 sets and when the 5th set starts, the “challenge complete” notification pops up. you have to actively begin the fifth set before it’ll pop.
I’ll set it straight right now.
It doesn’t matter what settings you have, just make sure the game is <mark>infinite rounds</mark>, like the guy said above. It must <mark>start the 5th set</mark>. Don’t set these silly settings for it to end immediately after the fourth. There is a <mark>quit</mark> button. It took me around 25-30 minutes by myself with a guest which was not participating.
Set it to infinite rounds, Elite Generals, 15 second bonus rounds with bottom less clip rockets/FRG w/ Overshields, max damage resistance and no skulls on. Make sure you are playing with another player and that you beat the fourth set’s bonus around and start the fifth set. Otherwise you won’t get this challenge because you have to complete four sets, not just get to the fourth set.
The first time this came out I did it with my wife playing local with me split screen, because the first two times I tried over Live the other guy would always lag out about halfway through.
I wouldn’t suggest using an AFC controller, however, just to be safe.
I did it with a guest. I downloaded the “1.000.000 Points in Minutes” gametype from the games file-browser and plugged in a second controller. And of course you need to be connected to Xbox LIve the whole time otherwise none of the challenges will work.
Just start another game and play, that’s what I did. Suddenly it said challenge completed when I checked again and the credits were added to my total. I think it just takes a little time to confirm you completed it.

If you still haven’t gotten it, and are still going for it, here’s the problem in your statement possibly for why you did Not get it:
You can’t do it only through Local Co-Op you Must have at least One person through the internet playing with you.
Secondly, the challenge gets Completed when you Enter the 5th set not after killing the last enemy in the 4th or after the bonus is over, but Only after the 5th set has begun.
Third, it’s like the Endure Vid-Master from ODST, only you can modify firefights settings to make it a cr@p load easier.
Fourth, Make certain you have the settings in the game type set correctly. I did this last night with 3 friends over xbox live and we got the challenge in between 15 and 30 minutes.
Lastly, if you do it correctly, it will state: “Endure the Return Challenge Completed” On your screen, unless you’re doing split screen.
