Weekly Blog (game update)

Hey, seems there was no blog post/ update on the game last week.
Nor does there seem to be one today?

I thought the intention was to be more transparent with the community?
Last blog was 14 days ago?

Live service?

My understanding is that today or tomorrow there should be one, per @ske7ch .

They release updates on Fridays. not Thursdays, and Ske7ch said last week that there was no blog and there were threads about the topic last week as well.

If you check the news page.
The last update was 14 days ago.
which implies they came out on Thursday’s as there are 7 days a week. The one prior to that is 21 days ago, etc.

There should be one coming out later today.

It says 13 days ago

Ah ok.

The blog post is actually already out. It’s part of the silver side update here:
https://www.halowaypoint.com/news/silver-side
This seems to be the core summary of march Sketch tweeted about last week…
From 15 hours ago…

Which contains no information about the past 2 weeks behind the scenes work 343i has been doing with the game. It just lists the past 4 blog posts and end caps the March events. Nothing new. No progress on any of the known issues or articles they addressed over March., Just a nice recap and reminder they are selling dual swords with Tenurai again.

What a Joke.
I’m done checking in. Done caring. Done holding onto hope that after 3 games they would get all this right…

Ske7ch’s tweet implied there would be a separate blog post going over Season 1 learnings. This appears to be separate from that, IMO.

Which is exactly what they have done in the article link i have provided.

I don’t believe they have - I’m anticipating an article more similar to the flight outcome learnings that they did during the Insider flights over the summer. This article was just a recap of existing articles, a newsletter.

Me too but this is what we got…

HALO INFINITE

The first Season of Halo Infinite is drawing to a close and a recent update from our own Head of Creative, the one and only Joseph Staten, has teased a few glimpses into what we’ve got planned for Season 2, titled ā€˜Lone Wolves.’ New maps, new armor (including a free new Fracture armor core), and new characters have been teased for the evolving seasonal narrative which will be told over a mix of cinematics, story-themed Events, Battle Pass items and more.

The March update blog also addresses some critical issues that Halo players have encountered and provides an update on Campaign Co-Op, Forge, and looking ahead to Season 3. Be sure to check it out and get up to speed here

Speaking of blogs, we’ve recently published two Closer Look pieces on some topics of major importance to the online experience in Halo Infinite , concerning Ranked play and our anti-cheat strategy.

Looking to more immediate goings-on in Halo Infinite , the Tac Ops event has come to an end. This event saw Spartans jump into the Tactical Slayer event playlist for two weeks of training to become the finest headshot honchos around, rewarding them with tactical-themed gear – including the coveted Mark V ZETA helmet.

As the event concluded, we noticed an issue that prevented progression for event challenges, and so we’ve granted all ten rewards (and the weekly Ultimate Reward) to all players.

While Tac Ops has concluded, this means that Fracture: Tenrai has returned for its fifth (and penultimate) outing. This event will run from March 29 until April 5.

Whether you’re just getting started or looking to complete your set of samurai themed Yoroi armor for your Spartan, now is the time to jump into the Fiesta event playlist and complete those challenges!

The capstone reward for this week is the Ever-filled Juzu chest attachment. Complete all your weekly challenges to acquire the best place for your Spartan to store their battlefield snacks.

In addition, Game Update 1.1.1.1 released earlier this month and brought with it bug fixes, improvements, and additions to Halo Infinite .

Some of the highlights include:

  • Improved PC stability
  • The ability to start Local Area Network (LAN) servers from the in-game menu
  • First-person animations, including reloading and clambering, now appear smoother at all framerates
  • Audio mix improvements across both multiplayer and campaign
  • Improved cheat detection and other anti-cheat improvements
  • Multiple improvements to Quick Resume on Xbox Series X|S consoles
  • Stability improvements for Xbox One consoles

Yes, agree. But the content of his tweet indicates this isn’t what he was speaking about:

…but we should have some initial season one feedback outcomes/info to share next week.

Reading this Tweet, and comparing against what was in the Community Update, one of the below three things seems likely to me:

  1. The article was delayed and replaced with the Community Update article (this would be fitting lol)
  2. The article will be a second article today (less likely IMO, but possible)
  3. The article will come out tomorrow afternoon (Friday, PST - most likely IMO, saving it for last minute/end of week)

Ok well here’s hoping this happens.
But so far nothing…
I get it, you’re hopeful.
But honestly i think this copy/ paste / re hash of March by their community manager is what we Sketch was on about. As it literally covers what they did during season 1…

Fingers crossed.

They will drop the bomb and instantly log off. Probably 8pm ET tomorrow.

I don’t know if I’m hopeful, I just expect the pattern to be maintained with regards to the format of the article, given that they were consistent between flight one and two. I’m expecting an article similar to this one: https://www.halowaypoint.com/news/tech-preview-2-outcomes

When it comes, that’s a good question.

Edit: they did confirm the outcomes will indeed be separate, but no clarification on timing: https://twitter.com/ske7ch/status/1509589466993684481

Loaded the blog post. Skipped everything until i got to halo infinite section. All it is is recap of recent events, nothing new, no teasers, no mention of the major issues being addressed. Closed the page.

When did he say anything about a march summary?
He said they would have season 1 feedback results, not a summary of march.

That is not the blog post, like I said, it will be coming tomorrow

So basically, the blog will be a season 2 marketing tool, lol.
I’m fine with that, more news is great

I think it’ll end up being a mix of marketing and ā€œThis is what we’re going to try and changeā€.
