Weeklies done = no incentive to play

So there’s two types of players:
Those who like gameplay and those who like both gameplay and non-gameplay.

Anyone arguing that the people who like things like progression systems don’t like to actually play the game are just being facetious.

I completed all the weeklies almost by accident this week.

Just play to play :man_shrugging:

Modern gamers are straight up trolls. There’s nothing wrong with playing the game, for the sake of playing a game. This isn’t a job. You don’t need constant “rewards” to make yourself feel good.

“Entitled” doesn’t quite capture it, but damn dude, get over yourself.

No, see, World of Warcraft has a Transmogrification system lol

Exactly this. People like to see a return on their investments, even if it’s just time sunk into a game for leisure. I don’t understand everyone saying “uh isn’t playing it for fun the point?” because yeah, sure, it is, but at the same time, if the fun you get out of it isn’t equitable to the time and effort you put into it, it’s gonna feel less fun pretty quickly and you’re going to want to play less. It’s about the ratio of give and take, it’s not the same exact transaction every time.

To be clear, I don’t think anyone is saying that if you like completing challenges or earning achievements there’s something wrong with you. (That’s certainly not what I am saying) I enjoy completing these things too. Heck, when the 360 came out and introduced achievements I was really into trying to complete as many achievements as possible in the games I’d play throughout that console generation. (But I never bought a game specifically to earn more achievements as was popular among some achievement hunting communities) But to say once you have completed these things you no longer have any incentive to play?

There have been a few who have been saying just that. They call it a mental illness or armchair diagnose people with OCD because they like progression systems…

Personally for me, it’s because of the lack of playlists. There aren’t my favorite game modes to choose from or I don’t have the option to just play slayer or just play objectives, and that RNG based experience just ain’t worth rolling the dice. So once I don’t have that extra little push, I don’t really care anymore.

This is all to say I am looking forward to Swat and FFA coming soon™!

Some gamers really like playing multiplayer just for the experience, however. I have played 500+ matches so far. After I complete all the weekly challenges I work on improving my rank, which is currently at Gold. When I was playing Destiny I played 50,000+ matches over several years. I expect the same to happen in Halo Infinite.

You my friend have some serious problem. Because no gamer shares your view.

Basically you are not even a gamer lol…

You just fire a game do work to get virtual reward. You dont play the game. You work…

I dont really need to hear more explanations from worker

This is my weekly routine:

Complete weeklies within 2 days.

During those 2 days

  • do nothing to the objective
  • ignore my team
  • make sure my comms are off
  • do ridiculous strats

Once I’ve completed them I try to have fun

I can’t have fun because everyone else is

  • doing nothing to the objective
  • ignoring the team
  • switched comms off
  • doing ridiculous strats
and watching my 3 bots go 0-10

I then get frustrated, leave and wish they spent 500m on new content for H5 & MCC instead

I did this weeks weeklies in ONE DAy and yep got nothing to play for I could sit around in matches and be useless to gain a bit of EXP ,but why there’s literally nothing else in the current batltepass i want I have almost everything i’d ever want for customization and I honestly will not touch either of the other armors this is halo 6 I’m suppose to be using the newest and best equipment and they want me to run around in MK V?? I’ve been waiting for years to use the MKVII platform that was described in the novels… and YOU WANT ME TO USE MK V?! And don’t get me started on that one spartan commander from the intro… Shes’ the reason i turn the voice volume to 0 during BTB

I don’t blame you, I’m British and her voice does my head in. She sounds like a voice-over for a sanitary towel advert.

You sound like a lore guy - why is she 4ft tall when she’s on the street but then an 8ft machine when she gets her gear on. Do they stretch these people at some point?

Well at least for the II’s they were children when they were abducted, I dunno about her though lore on her is scarce which is another reason I don’t like her, why is this dumb child we see in the intro brought into the spartan program?? what makes her better? Unless she’s a spartan III (which are Still better than the IV’s in my opinion) she doesnt’ bring anything special to the table Ii’s were selected because they were very intellgent or other traits that made them better IV’s were chosen because they were the best in the UNSC has the UNSC severly lowered their standards for IV’s? And III’s were orphans who survived the horrors of covanant invasions and such and were told they could get their revenge, sadly the III Program was just a sucide mission mostly, they were trading lives for time, time to stop the covenant… which is why Many Spartan III’s Died they were cheaper more numerous spartans able to do missions that HAlsey didn’t want her spartan Ii’s to get into. SInce Halsey actually kinda cared about her spartans.

I feel like all week last week I was reading that the system was too much. But yeah I have way less then 10 hrs in this week. I prefer to get paid for the things I spend 90 hrs on in a few weeks. And yea I’m being a -Yoink!- but it’s people like you who have games pushed beyond what an average consumer can possibly achieve in the time available. Go out and get some sun or something

Hey, I may have the time to play this long ,but at least I’m advocating for people like you who have a job/life and can’t play 24/7…

Maybe I mistook your wording. Apologies

it’s fine mistakes happen. I may not have a life, but I’ve been advocating for people who do and don’t have time to play for hours on this game, but I also don’t like the challenges as it creates this whole "I’m not playing the game’ Mentality because people are all focused on challanges insted of the system we had in like reach were you were rewarded for playing the game type and such. I’m not advocating for no reward for the losing team they should get some I think but this whole challenge this is, do challenges, sit through matches (The daily is a particpation trophey pretty much as long as you don’t quit the game) apparently 343 thought 300 100 100 50 exp at once was a good incentive to not quit…

capitalism at its finest. disgusting.

Ranked Onyx in 2 or 3 playlists if you can!

I got Onyx searching solo (you rank up faster for whatever reason) (and I do better playing solo than playing with my friend who’s god tier, which sucks), get that 1500 and move onto the next playlist. That’s my goal to keep me entertained.

Until next season where they reset ranks. halo 3 5 Star General took 5k experience. 5,000. And they had that goal before double EXP weekends were even a thing. This game has seasons, again, and it’s never going to compare grinding games, ranked and social, for 5,000 wins to get the top rank, if you could even get a 50. And the Battle Pass? Other players don’t even know what Battle Pass level you are or how much you grind as it doesn’t show unlike MCC where it was just a progressional displayed shield that upgraded like prestige’s.

I’m patiently waiting for the next Halo for these updates to take effect.
