25 mangler kills in Tactical Slayer, fyi.
See, this is the kind of challenge we should be seeing, maybe not necessarily for the weekly but it promotes good gameplay without hindering the player experience.

That’s a good choice for the ultimate, happy with that.
Unfortunately I’ve got a regular challenge of 4 killing sprees to clear first
In general I would agree - if we were able to directly select Tactical Slayer - Manglers. We are not however able to do so. And given that mode selection inside the playlist is random people can go quite some time without getting the mode they need to progress.
I would be happier if they asked us for kills, games played or games won in the event playlist.
Just been playing for one hour and only got one game with manglers.
It seems the bigger challenge is actually getting to play the game mode with the weapon you need.
If it were 25 Mangler kills then sure, but 25 in Tactical Slayer will takes forever because I’ve completed all my other challenges and so far have played no more than 5 Mangler games.
This challenge really is going to take all week, just to even try and complete it…
Weird thing is as soon as I activated the ultimate challenge my next 3 games were all swangler and I got the 25 kills I needed.
For once rngesus was on my side!
The balance of game modes just doesn’t happen for each and every Spartan that plays Halo Infinite. It makes sense on surface, but the underlining of this just isn’t the right move in my opinion.
Congrats on the RNG my fellow Spartan!
This back smack challenge is so irritating. I’m not getting easy kills that I could be getting because I’m trying to hide and chase after people instead. The killjoy challenge was horrible too, but I was lucky to complete it in just a few games.
I had a challenge for 7 Mangler kills and it took 3 hours to get one game with Manglers (thank gawd I got 8 kills in that game). So I have a feeling this is going to be more painful than it seems
The fact it’s weapon specific already adds stress and frustration of having to spin the wheel to even get to attempt the challenge. This is just beyond frustrating and I swear 343 is just doing it on purpose now.
I would much rather it be something like get 50 kills in tactical rather than 25 of one specific weapon.
The problem with many of the challenges is that being able to earn towards the challenge is often more difficult than the actual gameplay requirement.
For several weeks you’ve potentially had to play hours to get the right mode or weapon to actually attempt/progress the challenge. I know why, it’s so 343 can make people play the game longer so their numbers look better and because the more people play and for longer the more chance there is of sweet sweet microtransaction money but it’s definitely an anti-player policy.
A more appropriate weekly challenge would be “Play 1 hour of the tactical slayer event without throwing your controller at the screen.”
343 knows there’s rng involved in the challeges yet they continue to allow that to be a factor every week. What is wrong with making players get 50 headshot kills in tactical slayer? It’s not easy but it is something you can progress torwards each match.
343 is manipulating people with these rng based challenges you keep you playing the game and it’s sad. They are also slow walking this game. Sad to say but they are more concerned about the $$$$s than the wants/needs/concerns of their playerbase.
It is a good challenge…but only if we have control over game type. If we can select that we want the Mangler version of swat, it’s perfect. Otherwise we are just left up to RNG of getting it done in a few games to getting it done in alot of games.
What do you know … this week’s ultimate is 50 headshots in tactical slayer. They actually came up with a reasable ultimate challenge!
Honestly, a simple time requirement challenge wouldn’t be too bad. Make sure players actually spend some time with the event.
