Guys we must hope 343 release an update for Aim Assist very soon and they read these posts.
I truly hope theyāre working on aiming and the āInfinite aim lockā, I can tolerate a lot of crap around this game but the gameplay not feeling like Halo at all and being extremely unintuitive is whatās putting me off from playing.
But what reason is there for you to reduce mouse sens/dpi when your aim feels off?
I assume it would just lower your in-game sensitivity, so wouldnāt lowering your controller sens have the same effect, or does it cause some kind of acceleration/multiplier effect from the mouse ontop of the controller sens?
Whilst the wording feels a little off, I agree that aiming in Halo Infinite feels absoultely awful.
It genuinely makes the game feel like a bad PC port and I understand there are reasons as to why aiming feels so terrible, however that doesnāt excuse the fact that it has been this way for the past year.
Iām going to try playing Halo Infinite on PC with my controller, just to see how the aim assist is there. Heck, I might even try playing with a mouse since that has aim assist now.
Try playing some other games for a while and then switch back. I have no idea who thought that this was in a good state to be released to the public.
They are, though I am not sure in what capacity. It is my understanding that 343 currently doesnāt have anyone on staff that works on inputs, so the work is being done by other teams.
I am actually the one that discovered this issue. During a match on Recharge, I randomly lost aim assist, which is a known bug on PC, and noticed my right stick felt more like a mouse than a controller. So, out of curiosity, I decided to change my mouse sensitivity settings, and to my surprise, it changed my overall controller settings. So I reported it to my friend at 343, and months later, the team finally managed to replicate it during testing.
To answer your question, I am not 100% sure. To me, it feels as if it is adding an acceleration multiplier on top of my controller settings, but I can not confirm this. All Iāve been told is the mouse is affecting the controller even if your mouse and keyboard are unplugged. The game is picking up the drivers in the background. Though up until now, they had no idea why.
Wait your mouse sensitivity can affect your controller? How has such a major bug gone unnoticed for a full year after release?
@IntoVaIhalla Excecuse me, have you discovered a good mouse setting that it work on Controller?? Maybe we can disable many Mouse funtion for work controller
Very interesting considering the early discovered bug of using the keyboard or mouse as input in the main menu having the ability to turn off aim assist on controller.
Iād say itās highly likely that these are the same bug then as well.
Just lower the sensitivity values to the lowest. The lowest mouse values are still higher than controller values, but it does help a little bit.
Actually, it sounds like they may be separate, but the team is investigating more.
Just make it aim like classic BLAM engine Halo again, please. If this was indeed to ābalanceā the playing field, all it did was make both inputs feel terrible. Let Halo feel like Halo, give KBM whatever it needs to compete. Iāll play both inputs, I just want the game to feel like Halo again. This stiff left stick aiming game feels horrid.
