Wee need a big changed on Aim Assist

For me Aim Assist on Left Stick is wrong. Should be an help to aim enemies during jump, slip and others movements.
I prefer Aim Assist of Halo 3, 4 Reache and Halo 5; only in this chapter is very very bad. No sense.
Often my reticle moves by himself for follow enemies which I don’t want to shoot at, and i lose my first objective.
Please make it similar to the old chapters.

Aim assist works with both left and/or right stick. As long as you’re moving (left stick) or looking (right stick), aim assist is active. I have videos showing this.

should work while moving and looking at the same time. Then it is too accentuated in the wrong way.
Should work during jump

It does.

It does work during jump. How/why are you assuming it’s not?

In my game during many movements it seems to aim at a teammate, Often lock enemies that I don’t want to shoot.
In ohld chapters Aim Assist don’t work like that; it was very different

I can understand the frustration with it locking onto someone you don’t want it to. It is very strong in Infinite and can “feel” like it takes more effort than necessary to get back on track with the original opponent. Some will argue and say Infinite has the weakest aim assist, which isn’t true. The bullet mag can arguably be the weakest but the aim assist, the strong “stickiness” and lock on like makes up for it in Infinite. The bullet mag in Infinite may not be as forgiving as pervious Halos and may not be as broad but, with it’s aim assist it’s keeping the crosshair more in the range.

The rest of your issues sounds like they’re your issues.

For me this Aim Assist is the worst of all Halo serie. Others players have my same iussue. Now in this topic have only two opinions

This is correct.

The problem here is a two-part issue.

  • Part one is aim assist has been changed from a traditional slow down of the response curve, slight stick once the reticle is over the target, and re-ramp of the response curve afterward to a full-blown aim bot style where the game is attempting to aim for you.

  • Part two is the response curve itself. Previous Halos use a relaxed or balanced curve; Infinite uses a linear curve. The issue here is that when aim assists kick’s in and then when lost, the response cure is at the same value prior to aim assist kicking in rather than it re-ramping from the bottom of the curve. This causes over aim and is why your reticle will suddenly shoot across the screen. In short, there is no slowdown and re-ramp of the response curve.

As seen in this conversation between myself and my friend at 343 (name hidden to protect identity), the testers have also repoed an issue where changing mouse DPI/mechanical sense will impact the controller. This is obviously a bug, but a serious one for those who play on PC.

I’m so glad the conversation around aiming has kicked up again.

It never went away. The problem is there is nobody at 343 who works on inputs anymore. So that work is being done by other team members who don’t specialize in that area. It’s just taking more time.

And because of the hiring freeze, nobody can hop on board to fix it?

The “feel” of Infinite’s aim assist has actually kinda turned me off to it anymore. I’ve jumped into the custom games browser a little, and I’ve played BTB two of the weeks for weeklies I’d missed earlier in the year.

But I was honestly mostly frustrated during all that play time. I’ll continue to check back in on it as updates come out and big items like a PvE mode or tatanka release.

As it stands though, I won’t be surprised if I end up taking a break from Halo kinda like I did between H4 and H5 due to Infinite’s controller aim config. That break was the longest I’ve previously gone with Halo not being my primary game since 2001, and I’m approaching that

That is correct. They can not hire. The only thing they can do is outsource issues to Certain Affinity.

I’ve mentioned my following anecdotal thought in a few topics now.

I windmill around opponents in Infinite significantly worse than I ever did in H5, even when heavy aim was at it’s worst point for months. The second my crosshair leaves an opponent in Infinite, it feels like my crosshair just doesn’t even remotely feel like it goes where I’m attempting to aim at in my head.

Why is that? Is it because of Covid?

It’s a Microsoft hiring freeze that’s trickling down to Xbox and then to 343.

Because so many analysts are predicting global recession next year, tons of big tech companies have stopped new hires.

Personally, I think the business’s doing this are self sabotaging, because they’re locking themselves into positions where they won’t be able to solve issues they usually would through bringing in the right expertise, but that might be a subjective opinion

I mean, couldn’t they let maybe two or three people in?

The bigger a company is the harder it is to contact the one’s in charge for help.

No, it’s Microsoft-wide due to economic uncertainty.
