I honestly doubt the original halo community would return to a game that is so drastically different in a bad way you can’t even tell it’s Halo if it wasn’t for the art.
You know who’re back, those guys who try out every game but never stick to one.
You can say #weback but you would be lying. It’s good to be optimistic but don’t take it too far to an unrealistic level. I really want to return, but I want to return to Halo, not some game mechanics that were forced in to accomodate for another mechanic that was also forced in simply because other modern shooters have it.
And before you say I’m salty, I am. Because 343 lost all its credibility.

Great post.
I haven’t bought it yet and feel like I just don’t want to…
I don’t want to support the departure from, and death of a great style of gameplay.
Halo 5 really solidifies the end of that addicting, perfect gameplay.
It’s too late and has been too long since a proper Halo.
We can’t go back now, despite that more people would play it, and for longer, if we did.
It just isn’t Halo. IMO, 343 never got it. They’ve never proven to me that they understand why people played Halo for 3 years (until the next in the franchise). They’re out of touch, and it is upsetting.
I watch the MP and I’m thinking to myself ‘wtf is that?’.
Their ideas absolutely eliminate the fundamentals of old Halo.
The only reason I may still buy it is because there are no other good, competitive shooters. Halo 5 is the best of the lot. COD and BF, to me, are utterly atrocious.
I can’t believe I’ll never have another game satisfy that Halo gameplay desire again after MCC (which in itself only half satisfies).

And even then a good portion of people who didn’t like Reach that much went back to Halo 3 or split their time between both. Halo 2 also still had a modest playerbase when Halo 3 was out. These are dark times indeed since we know 343 will never recreate that Halo 2 or Halo 3 experience.
