So I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for a while. One of the main problems with putting a map editor on the xbox is that we’re limited to a controller, and Map editors would be fairly hard to use effectively like that.
So I have the idea of a web-based one.
I won’t go too far into it (I’ve got a much larger idea and possible workarounds) as I just want to hear what you guys think for now, but basically this is my general idea:
[/li]- Web-based downloadable editor
- Ability to create Forge Canvas’s and playable maps
- Can port the maps to the xbox or to forge.
- May/Not have to place spawns and spawn zones in forge.
- Possibly allow us to re-skin our own forge blocks and paint a skybox.
The goal here is to allow people who want an actual map editor to have that option, and people who don’t want it or simply prefer a more simplistic map editor (forge) still have it.
People with the map editor could then create new forge canvas’s for the forgers, so that they can use things beyond the dev pallets.
Anyway, what does the community think? Would you like to see a web-based map editor?
Fell free to share why/why not, and any suggestions you have.
EDIT: Added Poll.
