Hi, I was wondering if the rest of our classics weapons would be in the full release? Energy Sword? Brute Shot? Covenant Carbine? DMR? Fuel Rod Cannon? Plasma Riffle? Spartan Laser? Beam Riffle?
And what is going on with the pink/purple shining colour of the Covenant stuff? Like the Banshee and the Ghost? They look so dull now… I feel like some stuff in this game lost it’s Halo spirit.
And is it just me or every weapons in the game feels kind of bad versus our starting weapons (Sidekick and Assault Riffle?) Everytime I try to use something else, I get my -Yoink- kicked by people using the Assault. The only other weapon that I can easily play with is the needler. And even on my side, I feel like I shred every player trying to kill me with other weapons. Even the vehicle feels weak, I followed and shot at a mongoose with a Ghost for about 1 minute all accross the map and it just never died, I ended up giving up my Ghost and went back to my sidekick + AR. Even when I played with Banshees… the explosive shot (Why isn’t green anymore???) did absolutely nothing. I kept shooting at other players trying to capture a zone, and they wouldn’t freaking die.
Something feels blank about this Halo game… it feels like it’s almost as good as the classic Halo games, but is not quite there yet.
Red is to represent the banished, purple was covenenant. Though 343i will happily sell you mtx’s of skins to make them purple again. AR is too op, needs a range nerf, and its headshot multiplier removed. That’s also the reason its a sprayfest with way too fast of a TTK. Vehicles have paperthin armor, need a buff, and there needs to be more at once. Right now its lame only have like 1 ghost for each team at a time. Undynamic. Energy Sword, Sentinel Beam, Mauler, and a Brute pistol are all confirmed as the remaining weapons. The rest I assume will be added post-launch.
So many classic weapons were cut to make the sandbox more diverse, of the weapons you listed the Energy Sword is returning, but none of the others are confirmed yet. 343 is trying to avoid having weapons just be a “Covenant BR” or a “Covenant Rocket Launcher” by making it so that those Covenant weapons have a unique playstyle basically.
(Though if we are being honest there is still some serious weapon overlap between the AR, Sidekick, Mangler, and Disruptor, and again between the BR, Commando, Pulse Carbine, and Stalker, and then again between the Skewer, Sniper, and Shock Rifle)
As for the redesigns of the Covie vehicles, that’s because we are dealing with the Banished now, not the Covenant. They have their own aesthetic (though it’d be nice if that was reflected in the Needler, Plasma Pistol and Pulse Carbine too). There are weapon and vehicle coatings for customizing what those look like in the game though. I’d be shocked if they don’t have a Covenant Purple coating you can apply to the vehicles to make them look more classic. That would be a huge missed opportunity right there.

The Energy Sword will be returning. The brute shot is not in the game, the Covenant carbine was replaced by the Commando, the DMR was replaced by the Commando, the Fuel Rod Cannon might be in, No Plasma Rifle, The Spartan Laser was replaced by the Skewer, and there’s no Beam Rifle.
The Covenant is not in Halo Infinite, the Covenant was officially killed off during the events of Halo 5. The main antagonist faction in Halo Infinite is The Banished, a faction comprised of multiple Brute clans and Elite/Grunt mercs.
If you’re getting killed by people with an AR or Sidekick while you’re using another weapon it’s simply a matter of skill, gunplay and strategy that’s getting you killed.
The old Covenant colors aren’t coming back because there is no Covenant

I don’t even remember that, Halo 5 story was written by a elementary school student. Nothing made sense with the previous games, and it didn’t made sense with the books either. It was a s***show of unappealing events, trying to be more serious but ending up like a bad fan fiction.
Thank you for your whole answer thought, kind of make senses, but I think it ruins the fun. They should just add and/or remove weapons depending of seasons, so we get a taste of everything!

Halo 5’s story wasn’t as bad as everyone says it is. Even if you didn’t like the story, it was easy to understand and the character change from Master Chief to Locke and back were truly not that different from The Arbiter in Halo 2 albeit they were introduced a little differently. It shouldn’t have been difficult to understand the plot or what happened throughout the story if you listened to the dialogue and used context clues to piece it together, but I digress.
343 Industries has already confirmed Halo infinite as being a live-service game and even as we speak they are preparing new weapons, vehicles and maps to enter into they fray. There’s certainly room for them to add in some of our classic favorites as time progresses
