Weapons that should make a comeback.

I can’t wait to see the crazy new weapons that are in Halo 4, especially the new Promethean weapons, but i am just a little concerned about which weapons are going to make a return or not. Especially since this is a sequel to Halo 3. Weapons that i would want for 343 to bring back to Halo 4 are:

1.Submachine Gun-(I would want this as a different option for the secondary weapon slot on the loadouts, basically to accompany the Magnum and Plasma Pistol)

2.Plasma Rifle-(same reason as Submachine Gun)

3.Fuel Rod Gun aka “Flak Cannon”-(I honestly doubt they would eliminate this weapon, but 343 hasn’t mentioned anything about it)

4.Beam Rifle “Halo 2 and 3’s Covenant Sniper”-(Honestly guys, Focus Rifle was complete crap. Beam Rifle is far superior.

5.Brute weapons???-(Gravity Hammer is obligated to come back due to it being essential for the Grifball Community and the fact that it is fun as hell to use, but not too sure about the rest of the other weapons though: Spiker, Mauler, Brute Shot???)

6.Plasma Launcher-(Dont know if its a community favorite, but i wouldn’t mind it making a reappearance)

7.Flame weapons!!!-( I miss the Flamethrower and Firebomb grenades, they were fun as hell to use despite the fact that it will never appear in matchmaking. Just want it for Custom Game fun!)

If there is anything else that i may have skipped over, post a reply. Hope you guys agree, if not, discuss as you please!

Why can’t you see the SMG, Plasma Launcher and Beam Rifle coming back? The others like the Brute and fire weapons are kinda sketchy, but why not the others?

I’ve explained in another thread geared around the SMG, stating how it’d need to be in order to be useful as a primary weapon, and a secondary weapon. I’m not going to reexplain.

The plasma rifle was great as a primary weapon, back in Halo CE/PC, I used it a lot because it had major stun too it, slowed people down, it’d be great if it came back like it was in Halo CE.

I think the FRG is in Halo 4… Can’t remember if it was true or not, leak or official, or where/who said.

I agree, the Focus Rifle was annoying and crap, the beam rifle was a better sniper.

The brute shot was fun, the mauler was a useless shotgun by it’s self, but dual wielding it was fun, but I don’t see it or the spiker coming back.

The Plasma Launcher was FUN! I used it a lot in forge mode, cause there’s a fun glitch. XD But in general MP and campaign, that thing was fun to use on vehicles and ground troops, I didn’t have to even lock on half the time.

There was another thread about the flamethrower, and it should come back, but I don’t think it’ll be seen in Halo 4, maybe in Halo 5, and I would love to be able to use it on more levels than just the levels with flood.

I definitely want them all returning. I don’t see why they don’t bring everything from Halo 3 back (Because the events happen after Halo 3) and bring a few back from some of the other games also, alongside the new ones.

I also hope Brutes, Brute weapons and vehicles all return. They were my favourite to fight in Halo 3. The Brute Chieftain was a challenge. Plus, their weapons and vehicles were awesome.

Because I just have the feeling that the Fuel Rod will be made the primary Covie heavy weapon, the SMG will be useless compared to the Assault Rifle and the lack of duel wield abilities, and the Beam Rifle was MIA in Reach, giving me the feeling that it won’t be back. I may be wrong, but for now I stand by my opinion.

i find that it would be a waste of time to bring back the smg and the other two because in my own opinion they werent thst great

SMG is definitely weak against the AR, but that is why i figured that it would be a great secondary weapon. I kinda hope itgoes that way, cause there are veery few secondary weapons as it is( Magnum and Plasma Pistol) Kinda small right? Same thing goes for the Plasma Rifle.

I believe that it was seen somewhere in the Spartan Ops gameplay. Don’t quote me on that though.

the only thing is if i want a good secondary itd be the BR because its good at close and longrange and has alot of power the smg not really good against an elite or a promethian knight (halo 4 enemies) by the time u break their sheild theyed of killed you

I’m fairly sure the Focus Rifle exists to simply make Jackal Snipers less frustrating in Campaign (H2 Legendary anyone?) or Firefight. Oh and variety.

It has nothing to do with the campaign as far as i know, since i doubt that you can customize you loadout for that. Only thing is of course Spartan Ops and War Games. It has to do with the loadout options. It is divided into Primary Weapons, Secondary Weapons, AAs ,Grenades, Tactical Package, and Support Upgrade. The only way you can equip a BR as a Secondary Weapon is if you use the Tactical Package called Firepower. Im just saying that the SMG should be one of the default Secondary Weapons that u can use if not using the Firepower TP. Same thing goes for the Plasma Rifle.

ODST SMG, Automag, Plasma Rifle, Brute Plasma Rifle, Spiker.

Just so there’s more secondary choices than the Plasma Pistol and Magnum.

Those are pretty good, but im not entirely sure aboutthe brute weapons. It’d be awesome, but its still sketchy.

I do not see ANY brute weapons coming back. I know that the gravity hammer is essential to grifball, but why can’t they just use a golf club?

Halo 3’s Missile Pod would be a dream for BTB Heavies maps.

I love the Beam Rifle, definitely my favorite sniper because it shot crazy fast so you always got the kill with two quick shots. Plus, it was just fun to run around with two snipers in Campaign.

The lock on Rocket launcher and plasma launcher of Reach are both to slow to lock on, have to slow missiles and are generally quite easy to avoid if you got a somewhat skilled driver.
The Missile Pod was better, more fire and forget and faster, but it also gave the vehicle driver a fair warning and he could, if really good, dodge it. Not to mention we need something more then a Spartan Laser to kill vehicles, especially heavy ones at range (Tank/banshee), and btw the laser should be reverted back to Halo 3 efficiently. :slight_smile:

I dont know…Missile Pod was a bit overpowered in Halo 3. You practically had no chance to survive its shots without getting out of the vehicle. I don’t miss it.
