Weapons Test Range

I had a small amount of time to play the tech preview, so I played the weapons range because I’ve never experienced anything like it in the 20-ish years I’ve been playing video games. It was a great experience and I’m looking forward to spending a lot of time on the range improving my skills!

Keep up the great work 343i! I’m looking forward to playing the full game later this year!

Yeah, it was a cool addition. It could use some serious tweaks before I’d call it ship-ready, but the basic experience is there.

They definitely need to streamline it’s design, so that you don’t have to revert to the menu to switch weapons, or challenge tiers. And it could definitely use a “free practice” mode where there’s no time limit and you just shoot targets to your heart’s content.

In Halo 3 I made a “skeet shooting” map where players could select their weapon, head to the range, and I can’t remember how they triggered it but they did a thing and then chute would launch fusion coils at them repeatedly down a tunnel, they had to destroy the coils before they landed or else they would from the explosion on impact. There were even difficulties, from one coil at a time to 3.

Needless to say, I always wanted something like that as a built in feature and now we have it so that’s cool.

Interesting, I had no idea Halo 3 had that feature. :open_mouth:
