Weapons shouldn't disappear in 30 seconds

Every time on Reach I get killed and quickly run to my dead body after I spawn only to find all the weapons I had disappeared way too early. The earliest I’ve ever seen in a Halo game.

They aren’t bringing this back are they?

Is it possible the enemy stole them?

This is probably your problem

If you had something good on you, the enemy probably took it.

If they plan on keeping it in, they should make it so they actually vanish after 30 seconds and not any time before, the amount of times I’ve watched it just vanish in my death view a few seconds after I’ve died is hilariously high.

Particularly the Plasma Launcher and the Spartan Laser.

I notice weapons without ammo disappear when you die immediately, don’t even fall off the body.

I feel your pain. It’s particularly bad in BTB.

Obviously I think I would know if the enemy took it, even my team. But when you play on a wide large map like Hemorrhage you find things like this out.

30 seconds really doesn’t seem like a lot either. If you’re playing CTF or some kind of objective in BTB, then you respawn in 10 seconds and only have 20 seconds to run to where you died.

I was actually about to come back and edit that in, those weapons vanishing really fast compared to a weapon like the Assault Rifle or DMR.

I’d rather the weapons disappear then allow them to stick around long enough for the enemy to run over and grab what I had.

Yes I know… It is very bothering me I often see the weapon disapear just before my eyes.

There’s a chance that this occurence may occur in Halo 4. But it should be easily alleviated by installing to hard drive.

When I used to play Reach campaign without a hard drive, particularly LNoS, I found dropped weapons and dead bodies disappearing very quickly, even immediately after I had killed the enemy.

Of course, even with a hard drive, Reach was just being stupid: on Nightfall, after I killed some enemies, the map was cleared. And I was standing right on top of a weapon!!

It happens in Halo 3 to a lesser degree but it’s still there. It’s even more annoying when your weapon falls through the geometry, randomly.

343 should look to CE and Halo 2, which were far more stable:

-dropped weapons and dead bodies only disappeared when you weren’t looking
-if you picked up a weapon, it never disappeared

They wouldn’t have added a disintegration effect just for immersion right?

Yeah I hated that. I would grab a sniper rifle, get splattered, respawn just a few feet from where I died, sprint for my sniper and…it’s gone. Nobody around to take it, it’s just gone.
