Weapons +other stuff we want in the new Halo

Looking back at all the previous Halo games has made me realise how much I miss some of the old weapons. Shredding my opponents with dual Spikers, mowing them down with SMGs, getting -Yoink- bounces with the grenade launcher. I want to have those experiences again. So here is my list of weapons that i want in the next game, plus some AAs, equipment, and some of my ideas for new stuff:

-Jet Pack (increase the movement/thrust speed, decrease available energy, but have shorter recharge)
-Thruster Pack (increased range, quicker recovery time from boost)
-Promethean Vision
-Hardlight Shield (allow shield recharging during use, these things tend to be death traps)
-Auto Sentry
-Hologram (Make the holograms move more realistically, maybe allow them to sprint?)
-Active Camo (but with a shorter duration and longer recharge)
-Drop Shield (Regeneration Field functioning, but with Hardlight shield damage resistance)
-Pulse (shorts out the users shields, but creates an AOE EMP similar to Armour Lock)

Equipment (Maybe this could be another thing you spawn with?, or maybe choose instead of an AA):
-Trip Mine
-Energy Drain
-Shield Barrier
-Flight Pack (Similar to the Jet Pack but non recharging and allows you to hover for long durations)

Great post OP! You really got every specification on the UNSC side correct!

If there was something new that I would add, it would be actual C4, not the sticky detonator that blows up after a minute or the un-sticky grenade from the grenade launcher.

If they did put C4 in the game, they must implement it in with two modes

  • All at once
  • In order from putting down

Maximum charges available would be 3.

I can’t really think of anything else, but if I were to change something, it would be to bring the M247H/T back to the Halo 3 model.

You mean the minigun?
Was it the AIE-486 or the AIE-468?

You missed the Plasma launcher from reach :confused:

Hopefully theyll all return but reducing how effective AC is going to make camping with it even more common so make it like the arbiters camo in halo 2 since it will encourage movement and become tactical

Needle Rifle as a DMR/LightRifle role

i want the Minigun Turret from H3
the AIE-486H

along with the current one, the M247H

the AIE can spray a lot of bullets, which can deal a small amount of damage each (great for suppression) and the Current one can be more accurate, and deal more damage per shot, but it fires slower in return

You forgot the Flamethrower, the Marine M6G(H3), and Plasma Launcher!

I loved all of those weapons. Well, at least the Plasma Launcher was awesome until they nerfed it after the Beta.

A new weapon that would be another Covenant Sniper that is a super powerful Needle Rifle that explodes them with a headshot.

I think the BR should sit all the other games out, that won’t happen so it shouldn’t happen to the DMR

I’d like to see a weapon caste that has several equivalents for the UNSC/Covenant/Forerunner weapon sets, but are totally different from one another.

Just because it didn’t work in this game at first, does not mean it will not work in others.

I really want the SMG as a side-arm, it’d work in the loadouts, and can have it’s own skin. idgaf what you say, i miss it a lot

oh, and i really want the firebombs back, those were honestly my favorite grenades in any game i’ve ever played

First, all weapons should be converted to projectile. If the DMR was projectile to begin with it would never have been an issue. It could be dodged at long range, and would require more skill from the user.

Second, Automatics should do 80% of precision weapon damage by default, but do 120% with Headshots, while still maintaining similar range to precision weapons. This would mean someone who can hit the head consistently is rewarded.

I don’t care if this isn’t canonically accurate, automatics need serious balancing and need to be useful and skillful for once.

i dont understand the people that have only played halo reach… you cant really have a say reach took place before CE and if most guns from reach came back it would make no sense…

After Reach, the BR’s development took the place of the DMR in the UNSC except for the army where the DMR stayed the favored precision rifle. According to canon, the weapons in CE are just the only weapons the Truth and Reconciliation and the Pillar of Autumn had. As for the other weapons seen in Reach that aren’t in CE, they were either prototypes or weapons used by that fleet that attacked Reach.

So really, it would make sense for some guns to come back, some not really, but most dropped guns can just come back with a new look and effect. I mean, the focus rifle wasn’t a bad idea, it was just a little underpowered for a sniper and saw replacement by the beam rifle. But who’s to say, it doesn’t return as a standard precision rifle or as a stronger sniper?
