Whenever a weapon is placed on a map in forge, if you try to play Flood on it the weapons will not spawn in. I don’t want to use ordinance drops to place weapons because the visor notifications clutter the screen and makes it impossible to hide weapons from survivors.
You have to change the setting that says “Weapons on Map” to “Map Default”. This will enable any weapons you’ve placed in Forge to automatically show up.

Those settings are in fact hidden from the Custom Games menu, along with everything that relates to objects within a map.

That is not an option that exists. The closest thing to that is “Map Loadouts” which, while an available option in other game modes like ctf or slayer, is greyed out for some reason in the flood options.
Also, I thought most people knew about this problem already. It’s been known about since the beginning by some of the forging groups. People have been forced to use ordinance drops since launch to put weapons on their flood maps.
> I’ve been putting weapons down on maps normally since the game was released. Especially on Flood maps.
Weapons and Ordnance can both be placed in Forge. However, when you play the map in a Flood Custom Game, only Ordnance will appear.
This is because, as Andy noted above, Halo 4 has a “Weapons on Map” setting (like the past few games), but the setting is hidden (unlike the past few games). In Flood, “Weapons on Map” is set to “None”, and since it’s hidden, no one outside of 343i can fix it.

Any chance of them ever getting around to fixing this?

Not sure. All they’d have to do is release a Flood variant with a changed setting into Matchmaking, but Matchmaking is for gameplay, not content distribution. They’d need a gameplay reason to change this setting.
For all I know, they may have already done it with Hivemind. I haven’t gotten around to playing the updated Flood list – too busy with BT Skirmish.
> I don’t know how you are all having trouble. I’m perfectly able to set weapons on the map, and have them appear…
What game variant do you use as a base when playing the map in Custom Games? The on-disc Flood, Matchmaking Flood, or Matchmaking Hivemind?
