I’m shocked by how balanced 343 has made this large sandbox of weapons. Its nice to have such a variety this time around.
After finally playing I have even put the BR 4sk talk to rest. The DMR has a slight advantage long range and the BR gets the heads up at closer range. Depending on the map selected really determines which of these two utility weapons I begin with.
The first time I was killed with the assault rifle was in a halo tournament on release night. My jaw dropped because I couldn’t believe how awesome it was at close range. I’m glad to see it finally got the effectiveness it deserves.
The SAW destroys when in the hands of a good player. I’ve encountered it multiple times and have won a fair share of the battles using my BR. Players who use it strategically, truly showcases this weapons power.
The sticky detonator is by far the most fun weapon I’ve ever used. Every kill I get feels priceless. Especially when you actually stick an opposing player.

I’m glad its not 4 shot. With its current rof 4 shot would be so ridiculously OP. I honestly think the BR and DMR need to be toned down a bit. I’m getting killed so fast I don’t even have enough time to turn around and shoot back. I don’t know, maybe I just suck.
I do feel like the shields take forever to charge back up though. It feels like at least ten seconds before they start to come back up. I think it should be a faster.
Im amazed 343 managed to have the BR and DMR work so that neither is better then the other by themselves unless in the correct situation. Like the DMRs bloom is better, the BR is able to beat the DMR in close combat and the Assault Rifle can beat all of them up close. The only real advantage the DMR has over the BR is that the DMR can ruin vehicles if you and a few team mates focus their fire to one location.
I’m glad that someone actually started a post congratulating 343 on this, it’s nice to see someone appreciates 3 - 4 years of effort put into the game instead of -Yoinking!- because the cant play the game…thank you, I also agree with your point of view

If the BR and DMR get toned down. The AR would be a monster up close. Not to mention the SAW. As I can tell now, everything is nearly perfect weapon wise. Heck, even the rockets take more skill!
If you don’t like the shield recovery time try using the tactical package that gives you faster regeneration.

I don’t think they should be toned down. I was just complaining about getting killed.
The shield regen thing only quickens the time it takes for your shields to fully charge. What I’m talking about is the time it takes before your shields start to recharge. It’s the time when its flashing red beeping at you. I feel like they stay down longer than other halos.
The only thing I really don’t use/like is the sticky detonator, sure it can be okay in the situation, but the drop over distance is just a bit to much imo.
I tottaly loved the grenade launcher in reach, and I would always rush that one since no one else would run for it.
The sticky detonator pretty much replaces that weapon of awesomeness and therefor it’s lacking in my opinion
Don’t get me wrong, I like the sticky anyway and it will probably be one of my new weapons of choice after I get used to the mechanics, but it just can’t replace my favorite grenadelauncher ever (that bounce… hold to delay the blow, everything about it rocked so much)
