Weapons in Halo Infinite

As we’ve seen, Halo Infinite has seemed to add a ton of new weapons into the game. Do you have any ideas for guns that should be in Infinite, whether it be brand new, or bringing old guns back?

Personally, I feel that the brute spiker should return, but with a twist. I think that the needles should cause a bleeding effect, and do damage over time, and if enough are shot into an AI or player at one time, it would kill them quickly because how much damage is being done from each spike combined. I always felt that the Spiker didn’t really have a place because of how underpowered it was compared to other guns due to the lower bullet speed and the fact that it wasn’t very accurate, so I feel like something like this could make it more viable.

So what ideas do you guys have? I’m curious to hear what other people think about what should be added into Infinite’s weapon sandbox.

I like your idea. Would kinda be like a Brute version of the Needler if you made it that way. Supercombine of spikes kills the player faster.

I don’t have any crazy ideas, I’d just like to see some of the old H3 weapons back, like the Spiker and the Mauler. They seem to be getting overshadowed by new weapons though, so I’m not sure there will be enough room in the sandbox for those older designs.

DMR, SMG, Carbine, Plasma Rifle, Shotgun, Railgun, SAW, Beam Rifle, and the Brute Shot should all return.

I’d kinda like to see a Sniper that you charge up and get’s more powerful, but that could be unbalanced in MP.

Sounds like we need a Gauss gun from Fallout also add to your list would be variants of both Plasma Rifles & Grenade Launcher from reach.

I have an idea don’t think its been done yet in game but I think I’ve seen mods of it kinda crazy but how about a hunters Arm Beam either constant shot or pepper bombs they do, would love to see the animation of Chief just ripping Hunters Arm off just like a Machine gun.

I forgot the Grenade launcher, lol. And Hunter cannons were usable in Halo 5’s multiplayer.

Ahh thought I’d seen it in Halo 5 at some point as well.

The Assault Rifles from HALO: Combat Evolved & HALO 3 need to return [MA5B & MA5C]

I want to see the DMR Rifle from Halo Reach coming back in Halo Infinite. At the same time, I also want to see the Shotgun from Halo 3 coming back in the new Halo video game.

I would like to see more UNSC weapons most of the weapons of UNSC so far have been nothing special. I would like to see what high tech additions we have for UNSC. A UNSC version of the needler has been long over due. If not shooting needlers but something that shoots bullets that have the ability to track you. Possible another energy based weapon maybe one based on electriiry similar to the shock rilfe. Or maybe a an automatic gauss rifle similarly to the one on the hannable mantis

I’d say its a good idea, but my worry is that Halo’s military weaponry has always been more grounded and fairly close to what we have today in terms of weaponry, so I feel like making the UNSC weapons more futuristic would throw off weapon balance since UNSC has always been more basic in terms of weaponry (basic probably isn’t the best term, but I hope what I’m saying makes sense) while covenant/promethean weaponry has always been more futuristic. I think the differences between weaponry for different species is part of what makes Halo’s weapon sandbox so great, and I feel that trying to make UNSC stuff TOO futuristic could mess that up. But there are some ways it could work, like I don’t mind the shock rifle idea or the guass rifle, but trying to make a UNSC copy of the needler just wouldn’t feel right imo

I think it would be nice to have those back, but personally I also hate dwelling on the past because sometimes that can ruin future things because they aren’t as good as what we got before. I think that they should maybe be multiplayer weapons you can use (like the CE magnum and the halo 2 br in halo 5) but I think that the Infinite assault rifle seems really good and I personally wouldn’t mind at all if we didn’t have the Ma5b and ma5c in infinite. That being said, it would still be cool to use them in Infinite.

I feel that the DMR in terms of design hasn’t been very good since reach but in terms of how the gun works it’s stayed fairly the same. But they 100% need to bring the DMR design from reach back, that was my favorite one out of them all. It kinda sucks that they pretty much 100% confirmed that the old shotgun and magnum aren’t coming back but I guess I can live with it since there’s not much we can really do about 343’s decision to not bring them back.

Yeah and why shouldn’t they make the Spnkr less powerful too, it’s annoying to be killed by a rocket when you have a vehicule (I’m ironic if it’s not clear because your idea is bad. The Spartan Laser is supposed to be a super powerful laser beam so yes it can destroy your vehicule and it shouldn’t become less powerful)

I see what s tiger is saying and I also see what your saying. It is annoying sometimes to get one shotted in a vehicle but then again that’s the whole point of the weapon so it should be powerful. Plus, the long charge up time and the fact every shot drains the ammo of the spartan laser balances it out really well.

Keep most of the weapons basic but they still give us at least one high tech additions each game. Halo 4 the railgun Halo 5 the hydra. Just an extra thing like a shock rilfe or gauss rifleb

I’d be very happy if the Halo 2 BR comes back. Man, I love that thing.

I just hate this weapon, for me it was the biggest mistake of Halo, it’s infinitly too powerfull. When you’re in a tank or a banshee and you’r strike down from nowhere, you don’t care that the weapon don’t have munition, your dead your dead. Players are strong, they now how to destroy a vehicle at the other side of the map, half of the time there is nothing you can do excpet pray.

It’s just my opinion, I know this weapon will never disappear
