Weapons I'd like to see again:

Grenade Launcher (Reach) - I do like the new sticky grenade launcher but the ole grenade launcher from Reach was fun. Wish we could play with both.

Needle Rifle (Reach) - This weapon was cool. I think it needs a bit of a tweaking and then it could replace the Carbine. I’d have it share ammo with the Needler. To compensate for its increased range and flight speed the crystals would lose their homing ability and obviously a precision weapon would fire slower. Still 6?7? shots for a supercombine. The Needler would continue to act as the Covy shotgun; spraying a stream of needles which home in on nearby heat sources. I think this makes sense because if the Covenant has those cool needles which supercombine to explode they should be using them more right? Basically I’m just suggesting that the Carbine be turned into this gun instead.

Mauler (Halo3) - hand held mini-shotgun revolver. Half the killing power and half the range of a shotgun but it’s also a pistol. Fun stuff. I know this is a Brute weapon but I think even the Elites could see it’s value. We still have gravity hammers and those are Brute weapons.

Oh yeah and what was that Elite weapon from Reach which fired sticky grenades at things? That was a cool gun too even though I was rubbish with it.

flame thrower was fantastically hilarious sad it’s no longer around. also sad there is no more incineration grenades. i guess i enjoy lighting people on fire.

I dug the focus rifle and needle too.

Reach had a number of nice gimmicky weapons that made them feel different. Halo 4’s weapons feel too much like reskins with numbers tweaks.

That or the concussion rifle, which is in Halo 4. EDIT: Ah the plasma launcher. Fair.

The human grenade launcher was ace, but the Sticky detonator is also ace.

Needle rifle would have been good I guess.

I think the SAW, railgun and Sticky Grenade shoulda been reskinned as forerunner weapons. Help diversify their arsenal a bit.

Adding a bunch of new guns you never fight in campaign (due to no flood) is sort of limited.

can’t believe i forgot about the focus rifle. picked that up every chance i got. so many assists were given when you had that gun. it drained someone’s shield awesomely fast at long range. when that was in the hand of someone who knew how to aim, it was a beast. completely worthless though if you can’t aim worth -Yoink-

I would rather have both the needle rifle and the carbine. I love both in their own ways, but actually, I like your idea of the covey shotgun. Tracking projectiles as a load out weapon would be more idiot proof that the boltshot, so I’d rather have the needle rifle as either:

  1. a longer range shotgun that tracks foes but the farther projectiles get, it obviously gets weaker but can still supercombine
  2. a two round burst load out rifle (original idea) that supercombines
  3. a pistol that has a high rate of fire and a 16 round clip, but isn’t too accurate and can also supercombine

I actually would like 2 the most. It could be tweaked to counter the DMR, but still succumb to other weaponry.

Meh, the Covenant don’t need a shotgun, they already have two weapons occupying that slot.

I’m basically saying that the Needle Rifle should replace the Carbine but be almost exactly the same as the current carbine. 7 shot kill, projectile based rifle which uses the same ammunition as the Needler and can be selected at loadout.

It would still retain the same exact basic feel as the Carbine but would be shooting different Ammo. Think of it as a “Needle Carbine”. Same as the old Carbine, improved ammunition.

I wasn’t suggesting that the Needler be changed to be more shotgun like. I was comparing to shotguns but I realize that is an innaccurate comparison now. It’s more like a Covenant Submachine Gun.

I think this would be an awesome change because it would make the needler more desirable as an ordinance drop. Being able to have a Rifle and a Needler which share ammo and are used for Long and Short range combat would be cool and a unique bonus for the Covenant. Also multiple players weapons could create a supercombine.

spiker, halo 3 laser (it was much better than halo 4 laser), spike grenades, silenced smg, silenced pistol, and that’s about it

Only thing I liked about Reach.

I want a plasma rifle again, the pojectiles were slow, but that was more an advantage than not.
