Weapons and wreckage despawns far too quickly. People might call this nitpicky, but it gets annoying when you kill someone who’s a decent distance away and go to their corpse to get a power weapon (and you know it has ammo spare) and it just despawns within like 10-15 seconds of being dropped.
Older games everything was on the ground for at least 45-60 seconds.
And vehicle wreckage used to make excellent cover for a minute or so in BTB. Say your tank blows up but you survive you could hole up behind the skeleton of the blown up tank for a while so teammates could have time to assist. Now -Yoink!- just awkwardly despawns within like 2 seconds like it did in Halo 4. And more importantly it removes the chance for those hilarious moments of someone getting killed by a piece of falling banshee or something similar.
For instance, one of my favourite halo memories was on Spire in Halo Reach. I killed a guy piloting his banshee while he was at the top of the Spire in Slayer, he Respawned beneath the Spire near the cliffside 3 seconds later, only to have a piece of his own banshee fall on him and kill him again because of how high it was.
That was one of the funniest things I’ve seen, and on top of that it got me a double kill, on the same person with one shot! -Yoink!- like that can’t happen anymore…
This was an issue in Halo 5 campaign if I remember correctly. I never played the MP much at all.
It stuck out to me since they limit the amount of extra ammo you could carry. I would back track and not find any fallen weapons.
I agree op
I played halo 5 campaign once and have pushed it out of my memory so I can’t remember whether that was an issue or not but it makes sense that it was
They’ll argue it’s to “declutter” the map and keep the hardware from struggling even though it wasn’t an issue one previous titles which literally looked just as good
I am having issues recollecting exactly as well. I didn’t like Halo 5 much at all either.
I just remember being peeved about it this issue. I complained on the old waypoint that they need to allow you to carry more ammo in the campaign. I may have also had this issue in HALO 4 MP
Things I remember from 5
No poncho (at the time at least)
I really enjoyed the SMG.
I liked when it was over.
I honestly think this issues probably stems from having to compensate for older hardware.
Halo 4 had this same issue but arguably worse and that was due to the limitations of the Xbox 360.
If we’re following the same trends then it’s entirely possible that Xbox Once could be a culprit in the weapon despawn time.
@CaptainRisky96
I think that’s a very pessimistic way of looking at things. You’re not actually presenting any kind of actual point - you’re just bashing on the game at that point
