Weapons despawn in warzone.

343 why is weapons despawn timer so little? you die run all the way back and it disappears before you reach it. if its about gameover loading then simply keep 5 seconds timer on loadout weapons and 40 seconds on req weapons. its just flat out annoying when you die and are on your way to your weapon, you can see it clearly and it just despawns when you are about 50m away from it. please increase it. especially for weapons that are rare and above.

I try to make a beeline for my weapons with Upgraded Thrusters + Speed Boost, but it’s often too late before it despawns / someone takes it.

This is something I really want. When i spawn in a weapon and die I want to get it back and i can’t get it back if it despawns in 20 seconds.

I don’t know if this is overkill, but I always felt like it should be available to pick up as long as it has ammo remaining. So no set time for is to despawn, just always be available to pick up until it’s empty.

The despawn time is ridiculously low. By the time I run over to my dead body to pick up my weapon, it’s gone

My favorite is when I call in a REQ and I only have 1 or 2 of them and I die quickly after spawning, having used little to none of the ammo and then it’s despawned by the time I get back to it. /s

I lost a Nornfang with 11 rounds left in it because of the timer

There is no way your mythic weapon is not going to get picked up if it is just sitting there for 40 seconds, it could possible fall into enemy hands. I like it the way it is. Once I spawn a req, and lose it I don’t expect to get it back. It is always a bonus when I do, but it’s fine the way it is.

no its not. most of the time i loose a weapon it despawns. i have seen in theater. no one picks it up because I usually isolate myself and keep my distance so I die behind enemy lines.

maybe the idea should be dont recklessly die with your rare req called in? if you spawn an answer and charge in the open you deserve to lose it.

It seems that weapons despawn based on their rarity. I’ve lost mythics that despawn in about 25 seconds. But a rare req stays on the ground for a longer amount of time.

they should increase the despawn timer.

And yet…the body remains…

Come on, 343, if you can make the dead bodies last longer than the weapons, then you can make the weapons last that long, too!

That’s rough Spartan…

I know your pain.

I wish they would increase the time limit.

When I joined the corps, we didn’t have any fancy shmancy 20 second despawn timers. We had reqs. Only a few reqs and a 5 second despawn timer for a whole platoon. And we had a 10 second respawn timer. Buck up boy, you’re one very lucky marine.

Yum, very tasty. Thanks!

The quick despawn timer is there to maintain 60fps. If you’ve ever played WZA against 12 people who are really pushing into your base, weapons pile up very fast. Having all the weapons lay around for 2 minutes would put much more strain on the engine when things get nasty. Certain doorways would start giving you that famous frame rate drop.

That makes sense. Thank you for the information. Perhaps there’s a way to do a check of how many rounds have been fired and time possessed of the REQ as a way to protect those newly spawned REQs. just a thought is all.

yeah thats the point kiddo. who the hell cares for dropped br and ar for ammo when you are going to die before you can run out of ammo in wza. just despawn the loadout weapons in 5 seconds or instantly as on one cares for it. 10 second timer for bodies. just keep the req. there wont be too many to cause issues.
