Alright so the general game play is enough to trigger nostalgia but theres an issue with TTK. Time to kill is a bit too long. Im not saying weapons needs a huge damage buff but it just needs a slight buff. Yes i get it go for headshots, ill worry about my poor inconsistent aim later. But with melting someones face with the commando and between chest and a couple headshots it should not take a full mag to kill someone. The whole take the shields out with the AR then switch to the side arm is no longer a strategy.
Now vehicles
The just about all vehicles needs a good damage buff. it takes way to long to kill someone with a simole chain gun warthog. At first i was wondering why players no longer go for vehicles. Warthogs now sit and no one wants them and thats because the damage dealt is a huge issue.
I’m fine with vehicle damage, its health thats the problem. Several of the vehicles, a little concentrated fire with an AR from a few enemies is often all it takes to kill a warthog. Tanks spawn basically too late to do anything or die to being mobbed. The chopper is tanky though, but I think thats due to an issue with hit registration on the pilot. I’ve seen the pilots shields be about to break or I get a headshot with a sniper that seems to fail to register. Generally shots to the pilot, or even melee hits don’t register properly with the chopper for some reason(it does on other vehicles).
the only vehicle that consistently does well is the Wasp alone. But thats mostly cause it can sit out of range of the majority of player weapons and if there is no hydra or rockets, it can sustain a fair amount of infantry fire as well as sniper hits. Its also has some very solid firepower relative to other vehicles.
My complain with vehicle health is that they take ages to explode after they start to glow red. I preferred when in previous games there was no warning, you just had to know when to get down
I preferred that system as well. had a risk vs reward mentality. The doom state forces you to abandon the vehicle, no more risk vs reward(or drastically less by comparison).
