Weapons and more weapons

What weapons from past Halo games would you all want to see return in Halo infinite in multiplayer and campaign personally I like the original Plasma Rifle from Halo CE with the stun affect as well as the Shotgun, Fuel Rod Cannon, Grenade Launcher the Magnum from Halo CE not the crappy ones of other Halo games, Concussion Rifle, Sticky Detonator, The Saw, and The Brute Shot the one from Halo 3 that can hold 6 rounds that’s all I can think of for now let me know what you all think

In no particular order:

  • Grenade Launcher, S-Tier gun, Bungie’s best.
  • Sticky Detonator, S-Tier gun, 343’s best and I can’t believe it never returned.
  • Plasma Rifle (CE or H5). I think it would make a good alternative to the Pulse Carbine as a weapon that’s good at stripping shields but can also reliably kill. Right now every plasma gun is just a glorified plasma pistol and it kinda stinks.
  • Fuel Rod Cannon, but only if they make it more than a green rocket launcher. I’d like to see it either leave radioactive goop behind on floors (like better ravager), or implement the dead man’s switch from CE into MP.
  • OG Shotty, for Infection at the very least.
  • Plasma Caster and White Scar Variant.
  • Brute Shot and allow grenade jumping
  • Spartan Laser, but make the damage decrease with the battery to balance it better.
  • Flamethrower (CE or 3), I just want fire guns.
  • Firebomb grenades
  • Splinter Grenades from H5.
  • Void’s Tear Plasma Pistol, or at least a new gun that’s capable of making black holes.
  • The Revenant :pensive:
  • The Gausshog…

I agree with most but the Spatan Lasers damage does not need to be decreased it is supposed to be a weapon to take out turrets and tanks at least in campaign

Halo CE Shotgun is better at least when it comes to ammo capacity don’t know about damage

  1. OG Pump action Shotgun, not this bulldog s#!t.
  2. Mauler (Halo 3)
  3. Needle Rifle (Reach)
  4. Bruteshot
  5. Flamethrower (Halo 3)
  6. SMG (Halo 2) but with some buffs for single welding
  7. Fuel Rod Cannon (Halo 3)
  8. SAW
  9. Plasma Rifle (Brute & Regular)
  10. Fire grenades

And get rid of all forerunner/light weapons except the sentinel beam. They are s#!t.

Buff the HMG or swap it for the Halo 3 MG, it’s a joke in Infinite and a downright liability to carry around.

I also would rather it just remain as it was, but 343 clearly doesn’t see it that way. They wanted something that gave a little more warning to drivers, which is how we got the Skewer (which is friggin’ awesome btw).

I didn’t really explain how I wanted this to work though. The idea is that the laser grows weaker, the longer it is in use. At 100% battery, it does 100% damage, enough to kill a full health tank. Then it drops to 75%, enough to kill a banshee, but only do 75% damage to a tank. So you would need 2 shots. Then it drops to 50% and so on.

Changing the laser to do decreasing damage would put more emphasis on get and using the laser before the enemy team. But more importantly it adds a sort of “priority list” to whoever is using it. Wasting your first shot on a warthog, or a roaming spartan would be unwise if you know a tank is on the field.

The laser is the most powerful weapon conceived in a Halo game, and the responsibility of wielding such a gun should reflect that. Players shouldn’t be allowed to miss multiple shots and still be rewarded with an insta-kill on a tank.

The other option would be to decrease the number of shots you get. But I think that’s a boring fix.

Like I said, I’m totally fine with the laser being the king of the BTB again. But I doubt that will happen because of the damage H5 did to its reputation.

It mostly agree but I like the suppressor in fact I would take the ammo from Halo 4 and the tracking ability from Halo 5 and combine them I also like that hard light blade that the Prometheans have wish I could use that

No offense but it sounds like you want the Spartan Laser to be a useless weapon to me I never used the laser though because it takes to long to charge and I would always get shot before I could get off a shot with it

A slightly less powerful version of the most powerful weapon in the game is hardly what I would call “useless”. And if you’re getting shot before you can fire it, then you need to be charging it behind cover.

And I’ll reiterate a 3rd time. I am absolutely ok with the Spartan Laser coming back as powerful as it was before. I only presented these ideas because 343 seems set on the idea of a nerfed vehicle killer. But I digress.

They should add a slow moving “Hoverhog” which has Hover thrusters based on Reverse engineering Ghost Technology.

Hoverhog would make gameplay- sections over Water viable instead of having a “Gunboat” which would only have use on Water, whereas the Hoverhog is viable over a variety of terrain.

Hoverhog could have a new Guess Cannon with lower damage but slightly faster fire rate, being a two shot kill instead of one shot kill, but with slight splash damage like a Hydra

All the weapons from Halo Reach as their former self. Most of the weapons in Infinite are not even worth using, let alone have anything unique about them.

The sound effects are weak.
The visual effects need major work.
Most feel way to watered down.
The grave Hammer is all screwed up.
The sword is broken.

I mean the list of things that are wrong with the weapons in the game is unbelievable. Especially knowing 343 tried to brag that they spent all these years "balancing things":joy::man_facepalming:

Edit: Hmm, here’s an idea, stop trying to fix things that are not broken. Seriously, look at how 343 literally broke Halo Reach in MCC because they thought they could fix it.

They need to modify the Standard Sniper to be more like the upgraded Campaign version which has a Bigger reticle, lower zoom and better Handling.

It feels closer to the Halo 4 and legacy Snipers than the current Default one.

They could fix sound effects by allowing a Higher Quality uncompressed sound download for players with the Storage Space.

I know their unco.pressed sounds are probably much better, cause their Audio Viddocs with raw sound bites sounded AMAZING and vivid.
