WEAPON VARIETY

Honestly Halo is one of the only games where there wasnt many guns (talking about human) but the guns were still fun to use even when there wasnt alot of them and you had to rely on those at times. This is good but Halo 4 should try changing it up. Either have more variety of guns like 2 different types of AR, Rifles, etc… Or actually have more guns that fill in more roles like a CQC and support. Bring the SMG back and also an LMG for support. This way more weapons can actually give more roles for the team. This game should be more team based and having more roles would make it more fun and diverse. Honestly using the same gun has become tiring and whenever I played H3 and Reach its was always about the DMR/BR. They need to boost the damage of a few guns especially the AR… Its not a good thing when I’d prefer to use the DMR over the AR in close/medium range…

SPEAK DA TRUTH!

You say you want “more roles” for a better team based game, but adding redundant weapons (2 AR’s) will not accomplish that. What would be the difference between your 2 ARs? What makes for a “role” is having a weapon that is significantly different from other weapons, and is useful. Well, Halo has weapons that are significantly different from each other, but there are many that are not useful and some that are completely redundant.

In my opinion, eliminating all redundant weapons, and simplifying the sandbox so that every single weapon is useful, would create the most “roles.”

Expanded sandbox is nice. It gives the user more variety.

Reach was simplified, and it shows. I swear you only use the same three weapons in the entire game (Including campaign).

You read the post wrong. I said either expand the game with more of the same types of guns which will be good for its own reason like for example 2 ARs one good close range and one good long range. OR… Have more guns like the SMG, LMG, etc that are original on its own and will fill specific roles but if was implemented I wanna see all the guns balanced so BR/DMR is the weapon of choice for everything.

An expanded sandbox will only give users more variety if the weapons are different, so that the player behaves differently with each weapon.

Reach was not simplified at all. Do we not have the most weapons in Reach? Even if not, there are certainly plenty of useless and redundant weapons.

When you say “AR” a very specific weapon in terms of range and effectiveness comes to mind. Making the AR good for long range changes it to another weapon completely.

This is pretty much how Halo weapons are designed to work. At least in theory, the sandbox hasn’t been balanced well previously.

Nope.

Yeah, it’s a weird thing… Bungie removed weapons that they felt were ‘redundant’, but honestly, out of all the weapons that remained, only a few were worthy of using.
