Well, the weapon tweak has seen an increase in population numbers. They are back at about 35000.
For me at least, what is not surprising is that the increase has gone to BTIS and IS, as of the post, seeing BTIS back over 10000 and IS over 6000 again; not the competitive win/loss lists like some might have hoped.
This, IMO, would indicate that people still prefer Infinity settings but, with the faster kill times, enjoy it more. It is even more like the fast paced, fast kill times, Infinity style settings XBox game rival (Insert the game franchise here).
I like the weapon tweaks. I like that it has seen an increase in the ever popular, always ranked one and two, BTIS and IS play lists. This is the new Halo! The facts/evidence keeps mounting as to what is preferred. No, Team Throwdown is not the winner, nor other win/loss play lists like Team Objective (the mode where popular games like KOTH and Oddball are sent to die), but, Infinity! The old guard is changed; the new guard has arrived…for better or for worse, that is the reality.
I would say the reality is Halo fans are being forced to play this garbage or find another game I don’t mind H4 but can only handle a few matches a week I have played the Halo games nonstop for years

Just had to throw that in there didncha. What, pray, gives you that impression? Because the main TEAM SLAYER playlists have always been the go-to playlists. How do you know people didn’t flock to the IS playlist to play the balanced Pro with the now balanced weapons?
The old guard has changed? What is this nonsense?! If Halo got even a FRACTION of the old games population back and Infinity Slayer ALWAYS got voted that argument would hold water - neither of which is remotely happening.
The game has a couple measly thousand increase in pop (possibly temporary) and you think the entire Halo population prefers IS now? Crazy talk.
If were using numbers as an example, team slayer in halo 3 had like 30k in it very often. Therefore it trumps all halo 4 playlists.
Terrible logic aside, you cant say that halo players like those playlists better. They made a terrible version of competitive halo, at the start atleast, so of course those types of players are already gone.
Analogy:
Imagine a dinner with really good fish and crappy chicken. More people like chicken than fish, but since its crappy most people who like chicken leave. The fish likers stay. About 20 minutes later they have good chicken, but all the chicken lovers are gone already. Of the people left, they then take a poll of whats better, chicken or fish. Its a very biased number.
Thats alot how what has happened to halo. They scared off all the fans of what halo used to be, then when they restore it (somewhat) they arent there any of those fans left to play it.
Its a shame terrible playlists like flood are so popular. Has nothing to do with what halo used to (and should) be.
Slayer has always been the most popular game in any Halo game. I play Infinity slayer not because I prefer the Infinity part of it, but because Slayer is what I want to play. Team Throwdown(which I think you are making the comment about), I enjoy it but I don’t want to play the mix bag of game types.
If Legendary Slayer ever comes out and it removes a lot of the random crap of the infinity slayer settings. If it brings it more in line with Team Throwdown, and it be slayer only playlist, that is the game for me.
Infinity Slayer I almost always vote for Slayer Pro, because I don’t like not knowing who’s got what weapon at any given time. The weapons drop, I see them or watch the timer, so I know that a particular weapon is in play in the game. I am not hit by some random weapon someone gets in their personal Ordnance.
I am glad Halo 4 pop is coming back, but I think you misunderstand why Infinity Slayer is the most popular.

Flood does have a small part in what halo used. To bad they got Infection wrong. Infection in customs is to limited, offers much less options.

That too. I actually love infection back in the weekend playlist. Had almost 200 exp in it. Ive played like 2 games of halo 4s.
Just goes to show how much the playerbase has changed. The other group left and a new, smaller group took its place.

True, the infection we have today is nothing like the double exp playlists they had back in Halo 3. But then again, neither are any of the other playlists…
