Weapon Tuning Update: Carbine?

So I just finished reading the weapon tuning update and all of the primary rifles are discussed EXCEPT the carbine. I heard a while back that they were going to make it a 7sk if I remember correctly. Is this still be considered or are they keeping it the same? The carbine was my favorite primary from the previous Halo games but it is almost useless in this game (IMO).

Whatever amount of shots it requires now after the update it will take one less.

Yes. It will be a 7sk. Whether it will make a difference against a 4sk BR is another question entirely. We will just have to wait and see.

It will be a 7sk as far as I know. Haven’t heard anything about them reversing that change on the site or in the weapon feedback thread.

It will be 7sk but I dont see what yoinking bit of difference it will make against a 4sk BR.

Why couldn’t they just nerf the DMR instead of buffing everything else?

Ah ok thanks. Yeah I’m skeptical on how it will stack up to the 4sk BR as well, but since they are taking another whole month on making sure the weapon tuning is absolutely balanced, maybe it will be alright? At any rate I’m not getting my hopes up.

The BR is having its RoF slowed, and is only getting a one bullet buff (I think.)

They’ll have to hit all 12 bullets to get a 4 shot, and given recoil and spread, that’s unlikely.

Carbine will stomp it, and I’m OK with that.

IIRC, the Battle Rifle will require 11 of the 12 shots to hit for a kill, not all 12.

I really hope that the Carbine will be able to stand up to the other loadouts weapons after the title update. It’s somewhat weak as it is at the moment, and even though it’s getting a buff, everything else is as well, so it might not be as strong as it needs to be…

Still, I’m definitely going to wait to play the update before making any judgements on how it plays, so we’ll see!

No one can really make judgement calls until they actually play with the weapon tuning changes for a bit. Paper is one thing, but in practice is a totally different animal.

Just so you know, these weapon tweaks don’t require a TU to be enabled.

Oh its RoF is getting decreased? Didn’t know that… That might actually make the carbine viable then if that’s the case.

Really? That’s an interesting change. Good to know though.

I still have a feeling the carbine will do better overall, given the BR’s random nature in this game, but I’ll wait and see.

Well that’s a relief, I think it will stack up fine against the new BR. I’m guessing it will be similar to the way it was in Halo 3 as far as kill time comparisons between the two go.

excellent. i have told myself im not allowed to use any human primary weapon in matchmaking only covenant and promethean. this is good news for me

Any news on the DMR because I want its magnetism dropped
Its easier to hit a shot than to miss one now.

I think they mentioned they’re definitely keeping the carbine change. Seems like the most simple and acceptable change to me. I hope it all balances out with the DMR.

Whoops, yeah, I know that. By title update, I meant to say tuning update, my bad! You tend to mix up words when you only get 5 hours of sleep, blllaaahhhh…
