Oh yeah. Like the DMR is a fusion of the AR and sniper. I just thought it was a brand new weapon that had a different function.
thats been youāre arguement for it im just agreeing with it on some level. it is virtually a sniper rifle, it fires a single shot like the laser, instead of the long charge time of the spartan laser it has a long reload time. itās also the best against vehicles than anyother weapon like the laser.
When I clicked on this thread I thought it was going to be weapon ideas for new things to add to the sandbox.

ā¦So the Powder Gun.
The Powder gun is a new form of Subanese Crystal ordinance in the form of a sort of āBanished Blunderbusā.
Basically you take a whole chunk of Subanese Needler Ammo and instead of slapping it into a needler to become spikes, you are loading the chunk into the Powder Gun. This gun will unleash blasts of shrapnel forwards as the Subanese crystal is ripped apart by micro-gravitational fluctuations and sent down the barrel at high speed, filling the air between you and your close-range target with pink mist.
The force of the micro-gravity will bounce the target back while they are being hit by the pink powder. If enough of these micro-shrapnel crystal bits are embedded in the target; the target goes boom; turning the ragdoll of your opponent into an explosive that can harm more enemies down range.
Reload after every shot, so you gotta make it count.
Can also be useful for Powder Gun Jumping by blasting between your feet, giving you an extra boost on jumps.

Another I have is the Nail Rifle.
Basically, a modified Needle Rifle that fires the Tungsten Spikes of a Spiker rather than Subanese Crystals.
A Kinetic-damage distance Rifle for the Banished.

thereās already the br, commando, and stalker whats something different it could do. i would give it some burn damage, those spikes are supposed to be red hot when fired.
Burn damage, possibly able to use physics to knock targets around because you are being hit with a stick of tungsten, and have the gimmick of sticking your corpse to the wall like the Crossbow of Half-Life 2
it could act more like needle rounds as in get enough shots in to create a chain reaction they could ignite to cause greater burn damage and if itās enough to kill an enemy their body is left burning to create a hazard on the map.
it very much acts like a sniper rifle but feels slow and strong like the laser. the main reason im super against the skewer is that its an alien made weapon but is just so stupid simple! Big Spike Shoot!!!
Bloom needs to be removed from the game entirely. Donāt care how they balance things after, just get rid of it.

Recoil! Thatās how to balance it. But yes, agreed.
Honestly I canāt really get behind the idea of heavy recoil on precision weapons in halo. Imagine the CE magnum, h2 BR, zero bloom dmr with recoil, it would make aiming in those games feel far worse. Lowering rate of fire or aim assist are better fixes I think.
Weapon suggestion:
- Plasma Pistole - Allow Charged bolts to deal damage over time to vehicles (a bit like how plasma melt alloys lore-wise).
- Jackal Shield - A useful tool that protect its user while allowing them to use light one-handed weapons such as the plasma pistole and sidekick (reloading time is impaired). Once depleted, the shield does not recharge.
- Hunter Shield - A more powerfull version of the jackal shield which does not break, will protect the user from several heavy attacks (explosives, grenades and scorpion shells) but slowdown its user and prevent the usage of any weapon (impared speed and rotation).

plasma doing lingering damage would be great, i think the jackal shield would make for good equipment. instead of the hunter shield they should bring back the hunters cannon, maybe turn it into a detachable turret on slayer maps.

Bloom is an abomination.
Recoil is completely fine. I hope you understand, Iām talking about vertical recoil. Not whatever lovecraftian nightmare youāve thought up.
