Ok, so it looks like when you get a weapon skin you unlock it in the weapon selection screen for your loadouts. It does not look like Halo 4 uses the CoD weapon skin system, so that means your not using just the battle rifle with a skin on it like in CoD but that you are selecting a new weapon to use in you’re load out. This is where I have my problem.
If you are playing online and have the ability to use your own loadouts that’s awesome because you will be able to use your skin that you placed in your loadout by selecting your unlocked skin (weapon), but what if you play team BR’s or SWAT where you are given loadouts? Because you won’t be able to select the weapon that has your skin on it and because it’s not using the CoD weapon skin system, how will you be able to use your custom weapon skins in these playlists?

I mean more like customising perks in playlists such as ranked games. My guy hasnt changed because its a new account.

Ye, I’m here from Bungie.net lol. Well, I don’t think you will be able to keep your custom perks because the loadouts will be 100% determined by the game type
I have been wondering this exact same question for months, ever since they announced weapon skins. LastPr0methian posted that pre-order skins are customizable, but I’m not sure if that includes weapons. Here’s the link

Well, you can change your armor skin is customisable but the one for your gun is a locked color. For example the Arctic BR skin will always be white, no way to change it. I may have miss understood you though…
In my mind it’s unlikely we will get camos in competitive, same goes for perks. This is good thing since the competitive playlists need to be as balanced as possible.

I highly bought that my Red/Blue guy running around with a arctic camp BR is going to give me an advantage. Its eye candy that you get for pre-ordering the game and should be available in all playlists simply because you had to go out of your way in real life to get it
