Weapon skins confirmed.

So some halo news came out with the nerf x halo announcement. If you buy the nerf gun you get a code for the skin in game. So weapon skins are confirmed. Lets hope that a create your own custom skin type thing comes out with the game along side custom emblems .

And we’re off to a rocky start.
Considering the Nerf, or whatever Boomco was supposed to be in-universe, was toy-stuff, and nerfs being a toy, my expectations for serious skins plummeted.

I didn’t like the not-serious skins of Halo 5, because I felt they clashed with what artistic identity I had grown accustomed to with Halo.
Some of my expectations were different types of camos, and colors on them. We’ve got the traditional Digi-camo, Urban camo and so forth, but with colorschemes which would be exotic for specific planets and worlds.
Lava camo being black and red to blend in with volcanic ashlands and lava.
Teal reflective coloring meant for underwater use.
Greay and Red deserts, Highly advanced urban area camos and so forth.

Skins you’d feel had some actual use to a spartan in the various fields they can operate in, and be exotic and different enough to be visually interesting.

Nope, Lord of the Fries and an AR Pizza Skin.

anyway all h5 the basic skins are ugly, only this one of 343 is nice, I hope 343 will make something more work and beautiful on those of infinite

The color scheme of the Nerf gun is hardly offending. MC olive, white, and the classic Nerf orange? Leagues away from a pizza skin. The orange might not even be in the weapon skin version for all we know, since that’s more there just to let people know the gun is a toy.

This being the first “confirmed” weapon skin also doesn’t preclude the potential for camo-based skins like the ones you mentioned.

I do hope they have in universe looking stuff, but also, I love Nerf, soooooooooooooooo…

Honestly, I don’t really care if they add in pizza camos and whatnot. If you don’t like it, just don’t put it on your weapon. It’s hardly noticeable on other players except during the H5 match intro and outro when there’s a group shot of the Spartans.

The battle of opinions. The color schemes on the toys were pretty suttle and unique if you as me. The AR looks sick…

More attitudes like this. The color schemes look dope. That maroon gun with the needles was dope. It was like a plasma needler. :o.

And a hardly offending skin doesn’t exclude the possibility of other more eye-striking versions.
I’m concerned about a possible snow ball effect.

And while nothing regarding skins are mutually exclusive, there can be both, I did mention I find they clash with the artistic identity I’ve gotten to know in Halo.

I uhh,
I like the pizza skin. I thought it was funny and use it all the time in Halo 5.

I’m honestly more concerned about how to unlock skins as opposed to what they are. Make them glow in the dark and shout swear words at you, for all I care. They are an added little bit of fun which don’t out and out harm the game, especially for the majority of players who aren’t hardcore into the story and universe.

This might be the new micro transaction type in Infinite. But yes, the custom skin idea will be super cool!

Personally, I’m very excited to see this kind of promotion happen. It’s good for Halo, and the weapon skin is pretty cool to boot. It makes me wonder if this partnership will be a one time deal, or a continuing thing after they release the first 3 guns.

Not sure about this, just hope they make sure the ‘skins’ fit the universe and not some ridiculous looking skins.

I thought the pizza skin in halo 5 was pretty funny and hilarious. For weapon skins I don’t mind but sicne I’m still worried about the microtransactions
I’d like them to do microtransactions on weapon skins but make the cosmetic items such as armour purge only earnable.

Skins are in multiplayer which is a simulation in the lore I guess. It’s not like we will see Master Chief with a pizza skin AR in campaign killing some fools and not looking serious. At the end of the day, it is just a game and these skins are unique compared to other fps titles.

I was curious about this as well, it would definitely be cool to see more Halo nerf guns, I’m sure my kids will love this!

I’m sure they would. This is just the start for the release of Infinite. I mean Boomco had like… 15 or so? Granted some were just different colors. And Boomco is nowhere near the size of Nerf.

My opinion, if they reached out to Nerf or Nerf to 343. They have to have a lot of stuff ready for the pipeline

I’m highly doubtful with the monetization efforts that personal weapon skin designs will be a feature.

Laughs ominously at the thought of more exclusive Halo skins
