So, I think 343 did a good job in adding a variety of cosmetics in H5. The selection of weapon skins felt plentiful and were of good quality, although some were really generic. I especially like how some of the weapon skins were based on the Halo universe (ODST skin, Noble team skin, etc.), where the emblem of a spartan team or a ship is embalzoned on the weapon. Moreover, the Voices of War DLC was a worthy addition to H5, in my opinion. It felt really refreshing having new announcers in multiplayer, especially in the Arena playlist. However, one of the announcers (Yabda the grunt) was downright annoying and I felt was a waste.
With that being said, I think 343 can improve the cosmetics for Halo Infinite by adding more weapon skins that are indicative of the Halo universe. It’s no secret that the Halo universe is incredibly massive and there plenty of factions/events to draw ideas from. Some examples I can think of is a Flood based weapon skin, where the weapon is made of the flood with exposed flesh and perhaps even with pus oozing from some spots (think of infection from H4). Another example for a weapon skin can be based on the proto-humans during the Human-Forerunner war, specifcally the Lord of Admirals (aka Forthencho) and implement his emblem or rank insignia on a weapon. My final weapon skin example can be based on the insurrectionists and their defiance against the UNSC.
Lastly, Halo Infinite has a huge opportunity to add new announcers for Halo Infinite’s multiplayer. Some of the new ones I’d love to hear are fan favorites like The Arbiter, Captain Keyes, Sgt. Johsnon, and Master Chief himself! If 343 includes any of these characters as announcers for Infinite, even as DLC, I’ll buy it in a heart beat.
