Weapon/Sandbox Balancing

Listen Up, 343. This is important to many people in the competitive community including myself. I am by no means a great or even a decent player but see the importance of a skill gap in Halo. Luckily, the game is generally viable and with a few tweaks it could be great. To make sure I am not just complaining about randoms things, I have provided an explanation for each issue and why it is a problem. In addition, I have given a solution and an explanation to fix the issue without introducing new problems. If anyone at 343 reads this, please respond in this thread so that I know you are listening.

Issue: Pistol is far too weak as a utility weapon
It is clear that 343 wants the pistol to be Halo 5’s utility weapon. I support this decision because the pistol has much lower auto aim and less bullet magnetism than the br or DMR. Pistol vs Pistol 1v1 battles are a blast and my favorite part of Halo 5. However, the movement in this game is very chaotic and the thruster pack is used to escape battles far too often.

Solution: Either buff the pistol to a 4 shot kill OR raise its rate of fire to match the beta
This will make the pistol more punishing and reduces the likelihood that someone will thrust away while retaining the thruster’s offensive capabilities

Issue: Automatics are far too powerful
I get that 343 wanted to make automatics like the AR viable along with the other weapons, but they have been buffed far too much. They don’t require the shooting and aiming skill that the pistol does and they degrade close quarters combat by encouraging camping. They also make FFA much less exciting because it turns into a game of who can spray first.

Solution: Increase the spread of automatics and reduce bullet magnetism/auto aim
This makes burst firing more viable than spraying and allows people to strafe out of the way and counter

Issue:BR/DMR/Carbine/LR are too easy to use
Right now, the pistol is outclassed by the four rifles despite its status as a utility weapon. The reason for this twofold: the rifles have an enormous amount of bullet magnetism and the pistol’s range is too short.

Solution: Significantly tone down the bullet magnetism and buff the range of pistol
Buffing the range of pistol instead of nerfing the range of the rifles ensures that cross map shots are still possible in Halo 5’s large maps and that BTB doesn’t degenerate into a short range game.

Issue: Sniper is too easy both in and out of scope
The reason for this is simple: it has too much bullet magnetism. This makes the sniper unfulfilling because you don’t feel like your shot was due to skill.

Solution: Significantly reduce, or completely eliminate, bullet magnetism on this weapon

I feel like the pistol is actually too strong but I agree completely about the auto weapons being OP, completely promotes crouch camping.
