Weapon reload animations.

343 I love the way Halo 4 looks and sounds, and I have not really found anything negative to say about the game. But I have only one skepticism, it is about the weapon reload animations. They look too much like the Reach ones (e.g the BR reloads exactly the same as the DMR does), I know it may not be a huge deal, but it would be so much better if they were unique and new, very fast, sharp reload animations. It would add to the whole next gen Halo thing. Apart from that I effing love how the game is it looks superb. I just hope the weapon reload animations are changed before release, it would make the game that bit better.

Well, maybe the DMR reload animation is unique O_o EVER THOUGHT OF THAT??? Yep, just blew your mind.

If they reuse the animations from reach I personally won’t be happy. Between the time it took for changing weapons and the 2 seconds it took for reloads, there were a lot of kills swooped that should have never happened, and wouldn’t have in past games. If they want to animate, make it faster.

Yeah and make switching weapons and reloading quicker for more clutch kills.

I can’t say that I won’t be bothered by re-used animations. New reload animations would definitely be better, given the development time of the game. The magnum definitely needs a new reload animation, because the one in Reach just didn’t do it for me, but it’s a small problem. I’m sure they’ll fix it like they did with Halo Anniversary.

In the other games you just kinda whop your weapons out.

I’d prefer if you actually DREW your weapons. Pulled them from your holster, and shouldered them, instead of pulling them from your sleeve.

I too appreciate little details like this, however, if nothing is done (im sure they will have new animations though) it wont kill me. Yes, it will annoying but not game breaking :stuck_out_tongue:

It would look nicer, but if it takes too long to switch weapons, then it could slow down gameplay.

Examples:
If you get a body shot with a snipe, but it takes to long to switch to the BR and clean up the kill.
If you get a rocket kill and have to reload or switch to your BR, and get killed.
If you get a shotgun kill, and need to switch to your BR to kill a further target.

Basically, it would prevent multikills. You should never feel helpless when you get killed. You should always at least feel like there was a chance to fight back and win, instead of standing there getting shot while waiting for your weapon switch animation to finish.

Very well said Blue, I want to clean up kills quickly not waste changing weapons slowly, I want quick, clean reload animations that look good and don’t waste time. It would be so much better and seperate Halo 4 from Reach for the sake of the new trilogy, it’s the little changes that count.

I do care about draw times but lets think about this, there have been games that have pretty quick swap times and have great animations!

-Rainbow six vegas (kinda slow)
-GoW (little quicker)
-GRFS (these are pretty good IMO)
-Even Mass Effect has pretty quick draws and easily the best animations around

Just a few for good but pretty fast weapon swap animations :slight_smile: So yes, it can be done!

You realise there’s a limited way you can reload a gun, right?

Not saying it can’t be done, just not done well very often. Plus the SUPER slow animation times in reach really irritated me

I’d like new animations too. Maybe more like the Halo 3 ones.
