Weapon Pickup Silhouette

Something I saw in footage of the beta that irked me was the lack of a silhouette for the weapon you’re currently standing over. Instead it just had text like “Pickup Rocket Launcher”. That seems to me the recipe for a lot of frustration when you’re trying to pickup a weapon but have to divert your focus from shooting and trying not to die to having to read what you’re standing over, especially if what you want is in a pile of weapons that you don’t. Have they said anything on this yet whether they plan on going back to the traditional system of having the picture of the weapon pop up at the bottom of the screen?

From the beta blog post :

  • Adding highlights to placed/dropped weapons to make them easier to see
I think this will go hand in hand with adding little icons for every weapon.

We already had these on the map crossfire in the beta.
If u looked closely the weapons were highlighted with a light blue circle.
In fact I think they could be quite useful on dark spots on eden for instance…

Watch out the hardcore players will tell you, that the game should not hold your hand and that if you miss a weapon you miss it
