weapon niches in halo 4

Hi and thank you for reading.

To start, look at reach-and NO hating on it, just look at the weapons on it. Here is what i am getting at, the niches in reach: Utility-DMR(Pistol in TU), Close range-M45 shotgun, long range-Sniper rife, med range-Needler/Plasma rifle(yes, plasma rifles are still effective). The thing is…Where’s the AR? here are some notable changes that halo 4 should drop(note:these could be because the AR in reach is the MA37 and the Halo 3 version was the never, MA5C): Lower damage(from 16 to drop shields to 21), More Spread, No niche(DMR takes the med-range while the type 25(plasma rifle)takes that range in between close and mid range).

Enough of the AR, you utility weapon is another concern of mine. In halo 3, the BR was your utility weapon; effective at all ranges, but the AR beat it at close range and the sniper rifle beat it at longer ranges, in reach(sorry for some hatin’ here), the DMR is you “fall back onto” utility weapon, but the problem was that you could really use it as an all-purpose super weapon. The thing was that people started have cross-map battles at hemorrhage with some DMRs, they were reasonably accurate. The problem being that that sort of range should be reserved for sniper rifles, such as the Human sniper and the Beam rifle. A utility weapon in halo 4(presumably the BR, as the MC will have to use forward unto dawn for supplies.) should BE effective at that range, just not so deadly accurate.

What do you think? leave a comment below and I’ll edit this post every so often so your arguments are implemented.

well i think first of all that the AR in reach was as stated much weaker than in halo 3. which i did not like i understand what you mean by the crazy range of a dmr but the thing i like about the range is it gives you a chance against a sniper as in you cant pull off a headshot as easily as him but you can at least shoot them too get them un zoomed basically not too leave you helpless too get picked off by a snipe

good point cant count how many times i come up on some one and start blasting them or use controlled bursts and still get taken down every time by the dmr

this is what i use the pistol for

There should be one utility weapon which is useful in every situation, and the other weapons should be designed around this utility weapon to be reasonably effective at combating it at certain ranges.
